Imo the fastest LS1 Vette which is the FRC (lighter than the base C5) vs a stock '03/04 Cobra is defnitely a driver's race. I'd give the edge to the Cobra down low though. I've seen a guy run a 12.7 at 111 in his bone stock Cobra. I've also seen similar times from a well driven LS1 Vette 6 spd. I'm not going to lie on the street and 1/4 race I'd put my money on the Cobra. The Vette won't really start showing it's grit until 140+ in my opinion. The Cobra pulls hard all the way to redline(159 mph).
I hate to admit it but most Cobra owners overlook the LS1 Vette and use the Z06 as a good benchmark. After just intake/exhaust the average '03/04 Cobra will be leaving the LS1 Vette in the dust pretty easily. The '03/04 Cobra see gains of 20-30 rwhp from just those two mods.

A cobra and a vette are so different it is hard to compare. My Cobra had a whipple and torque was over 540 from 3500 to redline and that is what makes those cars feel so fast. Now don't get me wrong they are fast but the violent nature of the car has a lot to do with how much faster it feels than a comparable vette. My FRC makes right at 450 rwhp and feels not nearly as fast as my cobra but time the speedo from 40-140 and you will see that it's all about power/weight ratio!

yeah thats what everyone here is forgeting about power to weight ratio!I ve heard that termis kill c5 z06's all the time but when I had my vette from stock and only had cat back exhaust only I never met a stock termy that could beat me.In the time that my vette was almost stock I raced like 3 termis and 2 saleens none of them beat me but people always said that it was the drivers fault but owell if they wanna make that excuse ill take it

IMO the Terminators are not the Vettes competition, since when has the Mustang been in the same class with a Vette? The Vette is much lighter, handles much better and rides better even lowered and with big wheels. I could have easily modified the Cobra I had before but the C5 is so much better on so many levels.
I know the LSx doesn't have as brutal of a torque hit but I love the high rpm power and you can KB an LSx if you want the feel of the Termy.
