Default preventing wheel hop

The title says it all... I have a2003 C5 Z06 is there anything I can do to reduce or elim wheel hop. Dont get me wrong its not bad if and when it happens but I hear it can lead to breaking the rear which I dont want to do... On my T/a I added LCA's , T/A, PHB, this and that but the vettes are new to me , what can I upgrade thats not too expensive.

Nitto DRs helped mine alot.
Also learning how to launch helps alot too.

I would recommend getting a DTE brace very soon.

Get better tires. A DTE differential strut brace certainly doesn't hurt to have. That won't prevent wheel hop, but it can help limit drive line destruction caused by wheel hop.

From what I've seen, upgrading to a stiffer shock will make a lot of improvement too.

Good luck getting rid of the hop. I have had different shocks, tires, and wheels on mine and I have never gotten rid of the hop. It would even hop when I was running BFG drag radials.

I run 345 DR with 25 LBS. with Bilstein Sport shocks with no problems. Running 30 lbs. I get hop. Before the shocks and DR, I broke a drum in a RPM transmission with a little gas and a bump on the interstate. A DTE would help.

I noticed a lot of wheel hop when I had run flats...so i moved to a regular street tire and that helped a bit. Then I moved to a BFG drg radial and all my problems were solved.

I'll find out about my setup on Wednesday. Stock rear, no DTE brace, 305/35-18 Nitto DR's, lowered, and Bilstein shocks.

Looks as though you don't have a dte strut brace? The brace will stop this for the most part. Your lucky, most who break the trans shaft also break the trans case, and differentle case, and big bucks for all.

I had the DTE brace, both shafts, and good clutch. Broke the main shaft where it goes into the pinion gear. Twisted it in two with my cam only 03 Z06. It reminded me why`I did a solid axle in my 99 FRC.
