Default Need help. C5 clutch install

My buddy has a 97 vette. It's due for a clutch and we've never done a clutch swap in a vette and i've done the search and everything but still can't find a walkthrough or some sort of how to. I've done clutch swap in my camaro but this is completely different. So any help would be appreciated.

Yep, cajondude is what I used, along with a motor manual. It's a tough driveway job, but doable.

tough driveway job! LOL hell ya it is. I did mine in the drive way too a while back with cajondude's instructions and it all went smooth. Next time ill I have to do a clutch job it will be way faster than the first time.

just remember to take your time and dont rush, dont rush and dont rush. Be patient and read the instructions multiple times, it helps.

Yeah, like apples and hand granades!! The C5 clutch swap is no joke! I've done the F-body swap in my driveway, and I thank God every day that I paid someone to put this one in. I was right there watching the guy do it and kept thinking, "damn, I'm glad I didn't try this at home!"

Good luck!

It's not that hard. It's just some work, involved. Takes a couple people, you cant do it by yourself. I've done my clutch 3 times(bad SPEC, BAD torque tube and bad Ram HD) and a buddy's twice all on jackstands. The first time is a bit tricky to do, but after that, it's pretty smooth.

Me and a buddy of mine used to be techs at a dealership together and we wanted to time ourselves on how fast we could do a clutch job. We used air tools and a lift. We did it in about two hours together total from start to finish

Hope you didn't use the air tools on the rear saddle.
