Default looking to mod a 99frc

I pick up my 99 frc next week , and then it is going into the shop, looking to do heads, cam , LS6 intake, headers with X pipe. the car has Blackwing air filter and B&B Tri flow cat back exhaust all ready on it. My question is I know the headers I want all ready the LG Pro Longtube Headers w/high flow cats. Not sure on heads and cam yet. I want to be in the mid 400's rwhp then hit it with a 100-150 shot of nitrous. What would be my best bet for heads and cam? I want a big cam, what are my best options?

pic of car.

If I were to start from scratch I think I would go with some good heads of your choice and then try the new MS4 cam form TSP you could contact them or whatever company that sells the cam you want and I'm sure they could get you the right heads for your application. Good luck with the car and by the way great color choice!

Also don't forget to leave some money in your budget for a built diff!

Somethng in the mid to upper 230s on a 112 LSA with a excellent set of heads will get you close. Look at the ETP heads. ETP Heads

Have you thought about going with a supercharger? For the money your going to spend you could get a nice supercharger and be at 500whp.

The rims on Shoaf85's car look like Black Motorsport Wheels (Z06 Replica's) same we have on our Z.

PS...Congrats on the car purchase

Hi Quik Z06you have two awesome looking vettes, I have not thought about a supercharger how much would that be? I will have to look into it, would I have to add anything or could I just go with headers cam and supercharger for now, I really want the sound of a good headers/cam package.

Thanks

Thanks. Well it all depends on where you buy it. I have seen some people sell used superchargers for $3K . If you buy a new kit it could be about $6k, but with everything you want it could get close to if not overe $6K depending on what you get. You could stay on the stock bottom end, just get a good tune and keep the boost low.

The older motor have weak rod bolts. If you're going to do all that work you might want to swap out the stock one's for some ARP's. For the money you're spending you might be able to pick up a used forged short block some nice LS6 heads and a used centrifigal system and make a lot more power than just a H&C swap will bring ya.

look at heads by afr, total engine airflows's trick flow heads or etp. those are the top after market heads. there are lots of gm casting heads ported that make great power to. dont buy heads from some guy who ported them himself or has a buddy who ported them, you will not be happy with the results. as far as cam goes i like 230 range cams and it should be enough to get you the power you want.

afr, tea trickflows, etp heads (i liked the tea trickflow personally. only the afr heads can reuse the stock rockers)
fast 90mm intake-ported, 90mm-ported ls2 throttlebody
a cam in the range of 230's 590-600's lift on a 114(for the bottle)
american racing, lg or kooks long tubes
underdrive pulley
you will need a clutch of some kind most likely as well. at least a ls7 clutch
a good tune to top it off

this will get you mid 400's

LG Pro longtube headers is a great choice !! As far as head/cam goes I would strongly suggest the ones I use. I made a lot of power, you can too. AFR 205's (mill to 59cc and port/polish before installing) and G5X3 version II cam. I wish I had ported and polished my heads. Open them up to about a 210 cc port for increased air flow and more peak power. I wanted 500 rwhp but I missed it by 10. I exceeded my rwtq goal by 10 so it all balanced out. Call my boy Bobby at LGM, number is in my sig. He'll take care of ya. I promise.
