Default 2001 auto Corvette with over 100,000 miles- future problems?

I'm considering a auto vette with over 100,000 miles. Is there anything in particular I need to look at before I commit to anything. It has a some goodies in the motor, heads, cam, few others. Any known problems with high mile vettes?

Thanks, Bobby

The problem is how well the previous owner maintained the vehicle. Fluids, especially oil changed properly? Driven very hard? Hard to know these things on a used vehicle, so it's always a gamble. IF, it was taken care of, and not pushed to its limits on a constant basis, the engine has many, many miles left on her. If it were me purchasing this vehicle, I'd have the engine freshened up by a reputable, knowledgable mechanic after purchasing.

I'd also be a little more cautious with ones that were heavily modded.

Good luck with your decision! When you make your purchase, post up pics to show her off!

Mine me asking how much? That kinda plays in it. If your getting it pretty cheap then who cares get it cheap and just replace things. With an auto I would watch out for the tranny.

Yeah the tranny is what I was wondering about. But its just a 4L60E so it shouldnt be to hard to replace or find one. This is the car I'm thinking about getting. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1815802

I'd be trading an 04 CTS-V with 50,000 miles and no warranty left for it. What do you think?

By the way I'm 22 so I like the flash the Vette has.

I wouldent do it, unless you have to have the custom paint.
I would sell your V, and for the money buy something much newer and with less miles.

Well the paint is partly why I want it. I know it has miles on it but now that my V is out of warranty if it breaks its going to be even more expensive to fix than the vette. Plus I just love the vette. It already has the the engine mods done and I dont have to worry about putting a cam in it. I was going to cam the V and put headers on it but the stuff is just so high for the V I cant afford to do it. At least with the vette all I have to save for is a maggie and a tune. Not heads headers all that stuff. Plus I kind of like the flashy stuff. The caddy just dosnt get noticed. Dont get me wrong. I love my caddy and I thought I'd never want to get rid of her bt then I saw this vette and I kind of fell in love
