It's actually stronger mounting from the sides. It takes alot of "twist" out of seats because the base is clamped from the side plates down.

Here's where we are at right now. We can offer the Sparco Roadster II seat (they come in black, red or blue like below) with the custom C5/C6 mounting plates for $779 each delivered within the 48 states. We have not pattered the seat to offer custom leather covers yet and may not for a while. Depending on demand we will look into options on having the shell made and doing our own upholstery rather than buying the Sparco seat. We will try another install within a week or so to see if an extension which raises the belt buckle solves the problem.

The Roadster is not a reclining seat and we have no plans now to design a reclining seat for this car. You would likely need to design a seat with a top mounted reclining mechanism like the factory seat since the car is so narrow it is hard to get your hand on any ***** or handles that would be mounted on the bottom. It would be expensive with the design time and expense involved.

We test fitted the seat again at Corvette Center in Newington, CT. (Ray and the guys there are great by the way!). They let us use a red Z06 that just came back from the dyno shop after they quickly added about another 100hp. We just dropped in the seat, plugged in the harness and everything worked great.
If the seat belt is extended upward you can get the Sparco seat in the car and retain the o/e seat belts. The length of the extension needed may vary based on how far forward you position the seat. If you make an extension long enough so the fat part of the buckle clears the seat side bolster when the seat is all the way forward it will stick up higher than in the photo when the seat is slid back. We will show a photo later of an extension but will not provide extensions with the seats. If you would like we can provide a few sections of steel flatbar for you to use for this purpose.
The Sparco seat in red comes with a red cushion under your knees like below. The seat above had mismatched parts.

The wires for the control fit under the adapter as shown. We may consider a vertical slot in the adapter for the plug to fit through if this ever takes off.
This is of course the mock-up set of adapters to determine best hole position so kinda crude looking.

That one took me a while. I couldn't decide which part of the velcro to use on which piece We used velcro for the module to the seat bottom as well.

That what I thought too.
