Having driven and or been taken on hell rides in both the vettes and the Viper I can agree with Tony.
If you want a daily get the Z, if you want a car that feels and acts more like a race car get the Viper.
Viper also does VERY well power shifting.
They do get a lot more attention, some good and some bad.
Just like any fast looking car or exotic you are going to have the idiots, my dad gets them in his turbo Porsche and I get them in my car.
The attention is nice with people that know cars and are respectfull.
Throw some BFG drag radials on out back and have fun.
A buddy of my has an 02 with some mods, N20 and radials. Screams out of the hole and powershifts every gear and never even chirps the tires.
Its weird putting the seatbelt on the other way hahaha.

i had a hard time choosing between my c6 z53 and my 01 gts. Then i bought the Zo6 and it seemed like the perfect compromise so i sold the viper. Then a month later i drove my uncles viper and i couldn't believe i ever owned one. For me the choice is by far the vette, im just too big for a viper but i didnt realize it till i actually got another corvette. But im 6'1" 280lbs with a 36" waist.

Tony won't be able to last for long...he'll be adding another to his collection.
I can already hear the 'dark' side calling his name...
He'll be looking for some 'civil' high performance before long...

Atomic Orange Z06 is the only color I'd consider. Maybe the ZR-1? The current Z06 is nearly outdated since the LS3 came out, IMHO. Similar appearance, similar performance, much different price tag.
I may pick up a used C6Z when they get into the $40K range. Screaming values at that price

I've driven two stock Z06's before, when I had my C6. They felt slow by comparison
11.2 @ 129 on radials, spinning. That would even make the Viper feel like a turd!
If you don't like attention, do not buy any musclecars or Vipers. Even the C6 got a lot of attention when it was new in 2005, but now they are very common. As for the bad kind of attention, I've permanently equipped my Viper with a Glock .40

Would you say the Viper attracts too much attention? (the bad kind)

Sweet right up man..
I tgoo enjoy the cockpit view of my 03 SRT10...My 2004 c5 and 1999 RT10 viper both looked pretty boring through the front window while driving. the SRT10 however looks like your flying a fighter jet or somthing the way the hood vents look..
I havent had any problems with heat issues as well but one thing that dose bother me is how agressivly the front tires follow the surface of the road. If the road isnt totally smooth then it can be SCARY IMHO...
The interior is AWESOME and the seats are amazing. The power is decent. Mine dynoed 459/491 rwhp with roller rockers and KN filters.
but my buddies bone stock c6Z06 could still beat me by1-2 cars in 70-140 mph blast. But i can edge him out by a car from a dead stop to 130 mph.
Ive added some exhaust work and the car is at the dealer having warranty work done and possibly a competition coupe cam installed...
Im thinking about a procharger my self in march 08. Seriously. How many bone stock cars can you just add a supercharger/headers/tune too and dyno 700 rwhp? 10 grand though..But worth every penny.
