Default Cam and Pushrods

Hi,

After reading about and listening to many many combinations I think it has come down to the g5x3 with a 112 lsa. I want that little extra aggressive idle, and the power should come on slightly quicker than with a 114. I have read a lot about the valve clearance and it seems these are borderline and the pistons will not need to be flycut. I was looking at the comp cam 921 kits that include retainers, seats and seals. Is this all necessary or can I buy items individually and omit something? It appears the cam calls for a 7.4" pushrod which is what comes in the ls6 originally. Do I need to upgrade to hardened pushrods or reuse the factory setup.

if you installing a large cam its better to always upgrade everything because sooner or later your going to have to replace it anyway... i was looking at a MS3 cam from texas speed and the 112 lsa...i think you cam is bigger but not to much texas speed thats great price and they sell everything you need to install a cam

I already planned on getting the accessories from TSP and buying the cam only from LG. I see that the more economical PRC kit that TSP sells is getting some good reviews as far as quality is concerned and is rated for .660" of lift. The PRC kit also includes pushrods, saving quite a bit of money over the Comp kit. Over all this setup will be significantly cheaper than the LG kit and looks to have the same outcome.

Anybody see something wrong with this?

sounds good to me! Besides the fact that upgrading your drivetrain (rods,retainers,springs etc) to make it stronger, it will make your engine rev a lot faster....Lighter components...

pretty close to my setup.
I'm strayed from the baller status route and went with Comp 7.4 hardened pushrods and Patriot Gold Extreme springs because I got a good deal on it.
