Default 11.24@126.28mph and booted again :-)

Well its been a month since my last pass at Cecil county. So figured ehhh whats the chance of them remembering the car from then pffft nahhhh! I go and tech in and the guy says to me as I'm letting air out I thought that was you.... as I go uh oh and says to me "SIGN HERE". I"M IN!!!!!!!!! I pull up and everyone is saying the track is slippery. So I figured 13psi hot tire pressure and put alot of heat in the tires. I pull up and do a VERY HEALTHY burn out. Pull up to the line and rev to approx 5000rpm and roll into the gas let the clutch come out at the same time, car jumps up and pulls hard. I hit 2nd and feels good but a bit slow on the shift due to worried of severe spin i guess. I hit 3rd and the car starts getting a uneasy feeling like skating a bit. I hit 4th and the I"m thinking do I want to leave out? I keep into and as I go through the traps my skipshift light blinks (skipshift light blinks at 6650rpm) and I'm like hmmm have to be up there in the RPM's to have brought that on maybe it was a better pass then i thought.

60ft-1.585
330ft-4.697
1/8th-7.238
1/8thMPH-96.98
1000ft-9.441
1/4mi-11.249
1/4miMPH-126.28

2nd pass
I did a healthy burn out and went for a higher launch. The car came out really hard but fell down a bit loosing some momentum IMO. Shifted down through and once again the skip shift light blinked at the traps.

60ft-1.570
330ft-4.717
1/8th-7.272
1/8thMPH-97.69
1000ft-9.474
1/4mi-11.278
1/4miMPH-126.55

Now no one warns me at the lines, no one warns me at the time slip tower. So I pull up for another run looking for a hard launch and quicken the shifts to hit what felt like a easy 11.1x on the next pass. So I sit in the upper lanes for 30min's+ and as I'm about to pull into the lower lanes to get ready to run I get the hand out by the one track lane crew. Comes over to the drivers door and says goodnite. I didnt get it at first and said you want me to leave what did I do? Guy says come on man 11.2's!!!!!! I was like uhhh wasnt me He laughed and says goodnite. So I park it. I help a couple corvette members run better and ask the one guy I know pretty well at the track whats the chance of getting one last pass at the end of the nite. He said no... you really do have to get a roll bar. Too many people know the car as soon as i Pull in with the way the car sounds. So fun to have some new bests but not thrilling knowing there was so much more to be had.

I had the following done since the last time at the track. Fast90 ported, LS2TB ported, and descreaned ported stock MAF. Put 38lbs injectors in and retuned by Jeremy Formatto

Looks like it's time to update your signature.

Congratulations on some nice sixty foot times, and healthy mph. What have you done to your supspension and transmission to hold up to those 1.5 launches?
I started a cam install on my '99 FRC tonight, but had to stop when I bent the puller for the balancer. Once I get another puller, it will only take about 30 minutes to have the old cam sitting on the floor...

Great times and 60'.
I'm going tonight after 5 months from a warning. Have new gear so I expect to get booted. Hope to get one good time before that happens. Hate to ruin my street car with the roll bar but looks like no choice. The only time they don't bother you is on track rentals and we can't get the people together for those very often (like 1 or 2 a year). Pit-man

Chevy406 I dont have anything done to the torque tube or trans yet. I'm sure those are going to be my weak points in the future. I have almost 10 1.5x 60fts and 20 runs in the 1.6 range. Good luck on your cam change. Doing the came myself makes me nervous a little even though i did the clutch and it took a bit but worth the learning experience.

Thanks LS1LT1 looks like you're not doing to shabby yourself

alwaysinboost my best time prior is in my sig for now 11.31 @124mph

pittman good luck and yes if we want to play in the range we are in its the rules even though it sucks. This car is one of few that I think i'm going to be ok putting a roll bar 5pt in with a removable driverside bar.

Thanks Z but luck was not so good. My new skinnies on 4.5" GTO rims didn't fit...wouldn't mate flat to rotars. almost couldn't get them off...so..back to my drag raidals on the front and lot of swerving. First run I came out sideways with a 1.8-60', let out to straighten and ran 11.6 @ 122. Next was 11.5 @ 122.7 with a 1.67-60'. Third was 11.4 @ 122.5 with a 1.66-60' then they flagged me to slow down. Forth was a 1/2 run with a 1.67 then a Fifth 1/3 track run with a 1.55-60'. I Noticed my 60' and 330' time was very close to yours..I probably had a 11.2 roughly. My 60' was 1.55 and my 330' was 4.694. Back to the plan room !
If you get your bar in, let me know what you go with. Pit-man

OH man that sucks pittman. You really had a 11.2x pass going there IMO with the 330ft you had shows a good possibility of that. I'm getting more consistant on the 60fts now I need to get those 330fts down to 4.60 and under to achieve my goals. Good luck and sorry to hear about the slow down thing it sucks. Keep at it we'll race eachother there LOL!

I put my 2008 C6 Z06 shifter in tonight and getting the **** tuesday. I'll take the car out for some test passes on some non sanctioned roads per say and test it out. I'm hoping this will help knock down my times from 11.24 to 11.0's and then better the launch to 10.9x at 127mph

Thx. You will be there soon from what I see in your vids. I could use the company at the track..hard to get people to go around here...good thing my son's into it. Check out his speed-o run. I was driving while he did the camera. We were spinning and hitting the rev limiter but still jumped 30 + mph in a second or so. Pretty fun..it's a 2000 Silverado, with 220 cam, my zo6 heads and headers. He ran a 12.80 last night. http://s160.photobucket.com/albums/t...idesNewCam.flv

Good luck Z, I will watch for your updates !! Pit-man

I had to grind down the center in the GTO for them to fit on my car as well....Mine went on, but would not come off....Big thanks to a huge pry-bar!
