Don't think I know or heard of any others doing this mod, in fact I don't know of anyone quite as crazy as me except for three other guys on the CF.

Are the skulls painted or vinyl as I would like to do something similar on my car but place them up where the LS1 emblems use to be.

Yeah, me and a buddy looked it up in our GM service information site....it looked tedious. big props to you for attempting this. I haven't heard of ANYONE doing anything like that, and, until we looked it up a while back, we didn't even know it could be done.

The skulls are just vinyl,...I had multiple ones made(after I bought them directly)... I was going for the BOMBER(WWII) look.... ......wouldn't mind doing a pinup model there instead but...I dunno.

Your car looks awesome as is. The white and black contrast is just right.

Your welcome.

That'd be funny if you get it...cause I had a 97 cobra...and went to a 2000 vette..... you have a 96 cobra...and wanting the 99. Kinda gay...I know...but, ironic non the less. lol.

i wish you the best on getting the car man. Worse case senerio,...you don't get it. Just wait, if thats the case, one day you'll find one.

Best wishes G.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. That is kinda funny This is my 4th stang and im just burnt out with em right now. The LSx engines are amazing, plus the looks of a vette and the sound of them with the right exhaust just seals the deal.

Im not biased about car makes; if it looks good and is fast, I like it As long as it isnt front wheel drive lol.

werd.

Been raised around classic Gm and some exotic's growing up.(father was into classic vettes and Maserati',s/triumphs,..etc...my unlce...solely big block GM's)... I was the first in the family to buy a ford. I was 16(88 GT)...when I fell in love with the fox. Soo, i'm pretty well versed, and a non hater when it comes to platforms. I appreciate everything,...as I compair these cars to women. You just gotta love them all. yes, you have your favorites....we all do...but,..in the end... it's all love.

Believe it or not......SOME front wheel drive cars are growing on me. Boosted ones. Trying to buy a cheap daily driver saturn...so I can turbo it,.

lol. i'm pretty retarded(I wanna build my dd).

Lol you sound like me, cant leave anything alone Even the daily driver!

I agree on the FWD thing. If it still looks stock (no body kits, big wings etc) than I do like those as they make a nice sleeper. Just dont see too many like that.

Nothing but a turbo. No wheels(as in aftermarket). Just AC and maybe a lil power. Something to get form A-B without attracting soo much attention like the vette does,...(sometimes I just wanna be left alone LMAO)... actually it's to get the wear and tear off of it. 335's ain't cheap. lol.(about to hit 120,000miles) Besides, it's a dialy driver now...so everytime I mod...I gotta have it done like right away,...otheriwse i'm donw for the count. And my truck..well... think of the junkyard dog,...and you'll get an idea of what my chevy truck looks like. I rarely drive it. and the vettes cheaper on gas and has ac/

So you have been daily driving the vette? What kind of MPG do you get with that kind of setup?

the way I drive...14.7 average. But..it could easily get great mileage. It has before,...over 24 as is with this setup. When i get the new clutch, new injectors, and new pulley, going back for extensive time on the dyno again. Been talking with my guys....should get even better mileage with some new found techniques.

24 mpg with that setup is great in my book Ive read that a lot of heads/cam setups, when tuned, still get nearly 30 mpg so thats not bad either way.

When I get one, heads and cam will probably be the most id do anyways since it will have to be my daily driver. I'd love to be driving a boosted C5 one day though

Honestly, if your on a budget, believe it or not, so am I(I traded labor for almost all my parts except for a few that I had to buy)...so..if I was you...i'd buy...

vararam$400 new, you can find it used
LS6 intake unless already equipped(you an have those ported)(with ported TB) $200 used
Long tube headers(LG PRO's,kooks, american racing, whatever) All those brand s are great but, for a 346,...LG pro's hands down...$800-1400 bucks
A good camshaft, dual springs, new timing gear$700-1000 bucks(should change oil pump too)
a catback of your choice(i like B&B bullets) $500 or soo
hardened output shaft $300-400
a GOOD clutch when needed $1400
and a 150 **WET** shot of spray.$400-1200 if done right, and safe
and ofcourse a tune. Which I use a diablosport predators...with custom tunes.

For the most part, that setup will crush 9 outta 10 cars(and some bikes). When I say cars...I mean super cars...and high horsepower turbo imports and high horsepower domestic's.

Cam only, long tubes, tune, spray,vararam,...and you've got a hard chargeing setup.

Buy a Textralia, they really hold up and the clutch pedal feels like stock on the single.

I run a Textralia twin, a bit of over-kill at the moment until I boost the motor and it locks up like a mo-fu.
