Default 1/2" to 1" Drop Bolt Kit On A C5 For $65

i was on the west coast corvette website and i saw the lowering bolt kits and it says for the front it can lower the car 1/2" to 1" but the drop for the rear bolt kit isnt listed(im guessing its the same)

how do they work?
and does anyone have them on stock c5 suspention

if so could you post up some pictures and maybe a little bit on how they affect the performance

thank you

Those rear lowering bolt kits are junk. $40 for two bolts, two nuts, and maybe two retainers if you're lucky. All can be purchased at a local hardware store (look for the grade 8 stuff) for under $10 on the high side.

If you dont have a local hardware store that carries a Grade8 9/16" X 6.5" long bolt(no where around me does), McMaster-Carr at http://www.mcmaster.com/ has them for CHEAP (Under $4 for both).

You dont need the front lowering kit that West Coast has. You can cut your stock bushing or just completly remove it. BTW, the stock bolts are good to lower about an inch themselves.

I have the bolts to lower my c5 now, do you need an alignment when its all said and done? and also for those of you who have lowered their c5 have you ever raised the car with a jack after words or tryed to drive it on an alignment rack? I love the look of the cars lowered without that huge gap between the tire and fender but Im just nervous of the consequences of loering an already low car.

An alignment is not required but definately wouldnt hurt. Depending on how low you go(my comment is based on being completely slammed), to get a low profile jack under the car you'll need to drive on top of some 2X6's. Some lifts will also need a board or two under the ramps to lessen the angle. Another thing to think about is speed bumps... almost all are no go being slammed.

yes you do need to re align the wheels and it seems that txz0603 needs one on the front. anything that changes ride hight will change your angles on the wheels

Actually my wheels are fine. The only wear I have is from an aggressive auto-x alignment. I would however recommend and alignment after any radical suspension mod. although not absolutely necessary, i would recommend it.
