Default Updated Z06 numbers

2003 EB Z06
Stock Baseline 353/347
Stock Dynotuned 360/357
Blackwing w/tuning 371/366
Stainless Works headers w/cat delete 387/373
Same as above with Air/Fuel tweeked 393/385

We have since added our RGR stage 2 heads ($1799.99) and SLP 1.85 rockers ($429.99), GM head bolts ($60), and Cometic head gaskets (72.99 each). The new numbers are
424RWHP/393RWTQ. We still need to tweak the tune a bit, so maybe there is a few more in it.

I have very pleased considering I have retained the stock idle quality while making good power. It is slightly louder because of the offroads (which I like). With the better valvetrain components, it does have a bit of the typical LS1 "sewing machine" sound, but I can live with that.

I am very curious to see what kind of power we would make with a "thumper" cam, pulley, aluminum flywheel etc. Although I think 450-460RWHP is realistic, I am going to stay with the "sleeper" setup for now and probably add nitrous.

Those are some good #'s, with a big cam that thing will put down some serious power...

But put a direct port on it and call it a day...

I remember the stock 03 EB Z06 at US41 with the direct port that ran 11.2's @ 132

In this months issue of GMHTP, they've got a Z06 that they did some mods too, and ended up getting some pretty good numbers.

The mods sound fairly similar to yours tho, and i wanna say the #s were around the same. I just dont remember what exactly they were tho. Those sound like some good numbers tho man, keep up the good work!

So you are using 1.85 rockers on ported heads with a stock ls6 cam and making 424 with an off road exhaust and headers.

Thats pretty good.

Tom, are you still running the stock Z06 catback? Also, still the stock pulley and TB?

Again, excellent numbers!

Nevermind Tom, I just read one of your old posts mentioning that you installed the Corsa Ti. street exhaust. Did you get some before/after numbers on it?

Jason, I decided not to use the Corsa titanium street. We already welded in an x-pipe, and we would have to re-cut and splice the system to install it. I really like the sound of the stock system, and would hate to have to re-splice it back in, if I didnt like the sound of the Corsa.

So, I have a brand new Corsa titanium street system new in the box available at a good price

that's sweet as hell Tom. Me and Jon been trying to work my dad over to follow your setup. I think he's got his heart set on a Magnuson S/C though. We'll see!

Awesome numbers. Removing those Cats are a big difference on the car. Good for another 15hp or so

Jason Reibert @ Thunder Racing was nice enough to run this through their CamPro plus software. The two graphs show the results which are fairly dramatic on what happens to a stock Z06 cam when you add some 1.85 SLP rockers to it. These are at the the valve lifts, not lobe lifts. With the faster ratio you pick up a bit of ramp speed since the ratio is a bit larger, and you also pick up 2 degrees of additional duration @.050 lift.

Folks had asked some questions about the 1.85s and some folks were a bit skeptical about a stock cam car making 425. So, I wanted to provide folks with some answers to those questions. As I said, if you look at the two grpahs you will notice that the increase @ the valve is nice...
