No cutting. What you do is...(i'm on some strong pain pills right now...so, I may be giving you directions on how to get to disney world..)

Remove your factory or aftermarket airbox...8 mm or a flatblade screw driver if stock will be what you need.

Then, from underneath,...several screws hold the shroud to the bumper. Remove those(like 5 of them)...remove the ambient temp sensor, or just unplug it....and there is a couple of push retainers, on the front side of the shroud...pull those out....shroud should be near ready to pull out. You can bend it ...so don't worry. I think I remove it from the bottom.

...then...take out the area underneath, in front of both tires(it's the black plastic covers that cover your AIR pump and stuff, if you still got it...) Your removing these(on both sides) to give you room to start the outside screws on the air intake ducts).

....then, if you have fog lights...I think you remove them for a sec, to give you room(I can't remember that step, last cars I installed them on where Z06's)... then you grab the ducts...10mm screws I believe(make sure you put the right screws where they go(one is longer then the other)....start ALL screws. it's like three for each duct... but do not tighten.

I think at that moment you can slide the shroud back in place. ..and after that...it's pretty much self explaintory.

Some are a pain in the ***...some aren't.

i bought a NON carbon one,...for like 149 at.....maybe west coast corvettes?... Yeah, I think I did. Carbon looks sick...but,...very expensive.... and I really can't use it for boost.

If I could...I would. Cause it does look sharp.

I think the hardest part was trying to understand the instructions. LOL
The one short cut you can take is not removing the radiator shroud. That is a total waste of time and is abitch to get back in with the vararam installed. If you take it lose and leave it like that till you install the vararam then you will save lots of time. Otherwise great setup!
Just stick your hand out the window going 70mph, that is what is being shoved into the motor! It may not be a dyno queen but it sure works great and is proven in the real world and at the strip!

That is close, but you still have the restriction of the air filter in the way. The vararam will allow some air to be pushed through the air filter, but the vast majority of the air is still being pulled through the filter by the engine. The big advantage of the vararam is that it allows a fresh supply of cool air to be drawn in.

nice setup. Does the vararam intake come with a plastic intake tube or do you need to use your stock one?

Thanks

You have to get an aftermarket one or you can just reuse the stock one.

Does the stock one flow as good as the carbon fiber one?

Well the stock one seems to have those ribs in them, which looks like it really disturbs the air going into the motor. i will say that the aftermarket intake tubes are huge compared to the stock one. I would say get rid of the stock one and at least get the black plastic one if you can't afford the carbon fiber one. My buddy with his Z06 went with the same setup as mine but he went and got the carbon fiber fuel rail covers and it looks awesome.
