Default Brake upgrade

Does anyone know any good mods for the O.E.M. brakes for a 01 zo6? And will the c6 zo6 brakes fit on her and still be able to retain the O.E.M. wheels?

you need 18" rims to clear the c6z06 brakes however for the price of 1800 you cant beat that brake combo

actually, i think it takes 19's to clear the fronts of the C6z06... and they might look sweet, but they really arent that good of brakes. lots of fade reported by guys using them. id say just get you a better rotor and pad setup, and some stainless brake lines.

The C6 brakes won't fit the stock wheels. As far as mods go, you can rebuild the calipers with Doug Rippie Motorsports stainless pistons in the calipers. OR you can go with Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation SSBC's Tri Force calipers for about $800. The SSBCs are a three stainless piston caliper that work very well, especially for track work. Neither of these upgrades get you to a true big brake set up but they don't cost three grand and they work with the stock wheels. Put on some stainless lines while you have things torn apart.

A change of fluid and a more aggressive pad can make a noticeable difference. What are you looking for?

Wilwood SL-6 6 piston front caliper set up for around 1500, at least thats what it was a few years ago when I bought mine. I noticed a major improvement in stopping distance, even using the polymatrix Q pads. Trust me those pads aren't aggressive at all. I am sure the Wilwood's would be even better with some pads that offer more bite. Also using supercool slotted rotors. Just my 2 cents bro, good luck.

Check out the G Stop Brake package by LG if you don't want to have to use 18x10.5 on all four. Which is what you'll need to run if you go with the 6 piston monoblocks.

I checked out the G Stops by LG, i liked them, and theyre really well priced. Does anyone have any input on the G2 spindle duct kit? Does it do what it says it can do?

You should check out the road racing section of CF. A lot of guys use the LG's or the DRM (Doug Rippie Motrsport) ducts.
