On a C5, of course. FRC not necessarily denoting a Z06, I have reservations about leaving one of those out only covered by a car cover in my apt complex. ![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
On one hand, the Targa's look like eggshells to me, but I would love having open road. On the other hand, I know with an FRC I'd enjoy not worrying about leaky/cracked weatherstripping.
so which one?

I'll agree with Mobe. The FRCs in 1999 and 2000 were not just a body style, but a package. They were all MN6, all Z51 suspension, and all had some weight reduction measures....I think. They are also a stiffer structure if that means anything to you. If you want the open air, then get it. Also, if you want a car loaded with options, you won't find them in the FRC(ie...The HUD came into the FRCs at the end of their production run...so the majority don't have it but some do). The demand for FRCs have gone up due to the proliferation of ZO6s. I will have to admit that when I was shopping for C5s, I thought the Coupes looked better. But because of the ZO6s, the look grew on me. My opinion, get the ZO6 version of the FRC if you can afford it. Another thing to consider is that the FRCs had a limited production run so there is a bit of exclusivity and comraderie among FRC owners. They were kinda looked on as the bastards of the C5s and didn't really sell that well(until the ZO6 version came out) but have rebounded quite well on the used market. They can still be had for quite a bargain though and there is certainly enough standard equipment to satisfy the enthusiast.
My opinion.....get the FRC. You can find them in the mid to upper 20s. Do a little heads and cam action and you have a very capable car...at the drag strip and in the turns. Good luck.

FRC. Not a big fan of the big window in the back of the coupes. Plus I didnt like the idea of my T tops leaking on my camaro and didnt want to take a chance.
minivette get her to lower it.I love the way mine looks lowered.

Whenever I first saw C5's, they never really got me going because I didn't know about the Z06 (it wasn't out yet) or the FRC, so just having the eggshell didn't do much for me. I think FRC all the way.
Now if I only could find one in Bowling Green or Nassau Blue.![EEK !!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_eek2.gif)
Nice Z06 there, minivette. Gotta love the girls who love the good cars.![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)

I do love that Bowling Green Metallic color though! I saw a coupe in that color a couple of weeks ago and I purposely missed my exit on the highway just so I could get a longer look at it!

I own a coupe and love taking the top off weather permiting. my next vette will be either an FRC/Z06 or a convertible.
I like em all, but am definetly leaning to the FRC for my next ride

When shopping for a vette, I didnt really care for the FRCs, at first. Then after looking at enough cars they started to grow on me. After all they were set up exactly like I was looking for. I can say that after buying the FRC, I've never looked back.
