5.3 bored out iron block's out there ??
I know there is a lot of 5.3 iron blocks out there pulling their Cars to the track. Anyone rebuilt & bored out to 383 and added heads\cam ?? Please let me hear from you...spec's plus rwhp & torque.

I know a guy here locally that did a 5.3 bored to 3.9 bore (347 ci) with a stock crank and forged internals. With I think middle of the road heads, big cam, carb intake and a 300 hp fogger it was running 6.50's in the 1/8 here at almost 3700 lbs in like 6000+ ft DA's only 60'ing 1.50's spinning..
I was impressed..
I think it made like 700+ rwhp thru a T400 and a 9 inch with slicks on the jug.

A lot of the 5.3L blocks can be overbored to 3.90" and would make a 383 with a 4.00" crank. Personally I would not go that route. The price difference between the 5.3L and 6.0L blocks is not that much. You can get more cubic inches for less money with a 6.0L block than overboring a 5.3L block.
