Cool fuel milage c5 z06??

what kind of fuel milage are you c5 z06 guys getting. I was thinking about getting a 02 z06 just do intake/catback/ 150 wet kit, and run from like 20 mph rolls. something simple.

My 04Z was pretty much stock. In city/traffic driving, the fuel consumption pretty much sucks, but on highway, as long as I stayed around 70-75mph, I was getting consistently 30+mpg. The highway gear (6th) is amazing for economy. That's one of many things that amazed me is so much power on tap, but yet extremely conservative fuel consumption (on highway). Hope that helps.

I was getting 34mpg on the highway with 3.42 gears with everything i have on my sig. But now i have the 4.10's and I average about 28.5mpg in the highway. Remember that the z06 is also about 100 pounds lighter than my c5.

^sounds about right. But free up the exhaust from its restrictions, and get an induction kit and it should climb into the 30's mpg range.

Well, lets see I have a good sumation of mileage through the mod life of my car.

I started out stock getting 28 mpg on interstate and always having an average in the low to mid 20s with mixed driving. I added some headers, F14 cam and bolts ons and the mileage stayed the same as before already stated.

Now once I added some milled Dart heads to the equation my gas mileage went up. I was getting around 32 mpg cruising on interestate at 70 mph. The overall average in the city stayed about the same as before around the low 20s.

After that I added a 3.90 gear set to the car and my mileage went back down to 28 mpg on Interstate. I lost a little in the city as well averaging with a mix of driving to the low 20s and maybe even a 19 or so mpg.

Last year I changed over to a 383 stroker and now my mileage is a totally different story. With the 3.90 gear still in the car I get anywhere from 24-26 mpg on Interstate, but I have to cruise around 68 mph to keep the rpms right at 2000. With my usual traffic and city driving I normally average around 15-17 mpg in the city. This setup as alot more fluctuation in it then I had before with the 346. I am too the point where I think I really have too much gear in the car and considering some 27-28 inch tall tires or changing the diff back to a 3.42 gear.

I hope this helps you out.

It all has to do with your driving habits... If you are always on it and aggressive your computer is likely to lean the car out to be safe so you will lose a bit of MPG.. Personally I get about 14.5 around the city, driving in traffic or just cruisin the city... On a good road trip with the cruise control 25-30mpg before the 3:90 gears and not prob 23-26 MPG

I got 28 on my most recent roadtrip cruising 80+. Around town, God only knows since I'm pretty much always accelerating briskly.

When I drove my 02z on trips, at about 75 mph I would average around 30 mpg. The car was bone stock. And I would get about 20-22 mpgs in town going to work and back. With spirited driving, it would be around 16 mpg.

From Portland to San Rafael and back I averaged 23 mpg. (However, that included two days on the track at Infineon)
