Default help having issues after header install

I just installed texas speed long tubes on my 2001 coupe. I put the long tubes, X pipe, and I deleted my cats. I also changed my plugs to NGK tr55 and new plug wires. The car was running fine until the gas gauge went to emplty after I just filled it. So I took it to the dealership to get it check out and they had to do all kinds of work to it including (new gas tank, sending unit, and PCM) my check engine light is on because I deleted the cats and two of the O2 sensers are gone, but when I got the car back it developed a miss at 65mph. The car will start missing very badly at 65 but seems to run fine other times. Everything seems ok so im very confused. Thanks for any advice

Man, I hope the stealership didn't just screw you..What the hell did you need a new gas tank for? My fuel gauge on the cluster also reads like that occasionally (funny how the HUD still works just fine) Anywho, you need to have the rear o2's deleted by someone with tuning software.

Yea I stayed at the dealership for two weeks while the worked on it they told me that GM had a recall or something on the fuel tank and that the sending unit wasn't reading right. So they replaced all that stuff then they told me that the PCM wasn't working right. Its carzy they have had my car almost a month trying to figure out why the fuel gauge reads empty when its fuel. But I have no idea why the car is missing, do you think if I get O2 simulators and a tune that would make it run better?

It might be the O2's. Mine did the same thing. Did you put the front O2's in? The rear O2's are the ones that are deleted.

I would not trust the stealership mechanics any more than I could throw them. If they can only tell you "that the PCM wasn't working right", run and run away fast. If they 'fixed' the PCM, God only knows what they did. I myself would have the PCM reflashed with a stock program for your year or have it replaced. After that I would have it programmed with a new tune for the long tubs. Most of the sponsors can do mail order tunes meaning you send them your PCM and list of the mods you have, they will program it accordingly, and send you it back.

yea the only good thing is that I bought an extended warrenty so its all covered.. but they put all these parts on and still haven't fixed the problem. the car goes in to the dealer again tomarrow so im hoping I find some answers. it put the front o2's in where they go and the deleted the back ones. The car was running fine and just recently developed the miss. I guess im going to start by checking the normal things like the plugs and wires even though I just changed them and then get a mail in order tune

I agree I would say it might be the 02's. A friend was having all kinds of issues with his car, ran like crap etc and it turned out to be the sensors.

...or maybe drive up to Cartek Racing in Garwood, NJ (www.cartek.net) and let them put it on the dyno and tune it the right way.
Good luck man.

I just ordered O2 simulators to see if that will help and im going to check everything once i get the car back from the dealer. I don't think the o2's are crossed because the car was running fine then it developed that miss but I don't know

I plan on waiting to get it dyno tuned because im putting a cam and stall in soon so I don't want to get it done twice plus I want to wait and see if the dealership is finally going to fix the fuel gauge problem... but its getting a dyno tune soon

They could have plugged the front sensors into the rear plugs. That happened to me when I had my clutch installed.

We pulled the car into our shop today and checked everything out.. everything seemed to be fine so we took in on a road trip to see if it would do it again... It didn't do it for awhile then it did it... we seem to think that its the torque converter because the motor runs fine and it jumps from 1800rpms to 2100rpms but the motor runs fine and it only does it at 65mph and that were the convertor locks and unlocks... what do you think?
