sputtering C5

my friend has a 98 vette it sputtered ideling at 1500 rpms and then it also sputtered on him when he got on it.. just curious what things to check were guessing fuel filter?

is the check engine light on? and yeah. maybe fuel. related. - maybe and ignition problem... but.. if it does not have any DTC''s -- then check fuel pressure...

We need more info, can't diagnose much from a general sputter.

check any codes that may be present thru the DIC manual diagnostic screen. but you can check fuel, spark plugs, fuel filter, mass aif low, and loose couplings on the induction, and many more.

need more info.

To me, sputtering at 1500rpm and when getting on it,...I think 02 related..or maf.....or as simple as a PLUG WIRE!!!

Are they STOCK plug wires? Was work recently performed on this car? Or did this just happen outta no where? More info,..the better we can help.

Check plug wires, and plugs. If he hasn't changed these in a while...weather this is the problem or not, i'd make it a good time to upgrade to some MSD's and some NGK's.
