Are GTO spares rated at the same 55mph limit as your typical "donut"?

Hopefully it will be all business now. I am gonna try and get every last .001 out of this set up at the track not modding the ole stock motor anymore until a built one goes in , which is still a while away yet but I'm looking forward to it!

I'm sure the spare tire that is on the GTO spare definately is but I don't see how the wheel could be!

Ah good point. Not trying to get off topic but what drivetrain mods do you have to keep the car together with that much stick?

Can you give me details on your tire/wheel setup, sizes, backspacing, spacers and anything else required to make them work, thanks!

Differential is the equivalent of a stage 3 DTE diff w/ 3.90 gear and a DTE brace is coming, that is all except for a Textralia OZ clutch and a stock tranny!

As far as tires and wheel specs here goes:

Front wheels are 17x4.5 GTO spare rims not sure on off set/backspacing, Tires are M&H 26x4.5x17

Rear wheels are generic knock off ZR1 wheels 17x11 not sure about off set/backspacing here either just your typical 17x11 ZR1's and the rear tires are MT ET Street 26x11.5x17's

I am using no spacer on front or rear and the only mod that is required is boring out the center of the GTO spares to clear the hub on a C5. My hub centers measured 70mm so my brother machined the GTO spares out to a 72.5 to give plenty of clearance!

I've been running 17 x 9 or 9.5 on the rear with the same MT tire. They are probably cheaper than 17x11. The previous owner was using them for a winter set up. I painted them silver because I run the same style rims only chrome and 17x11 on the street. I didn't have an inexpensive answer for the front until now. Thanks!

Looks good! I think some C5 y2ks on the back would match excellent as well.

Yeah I was gonna try to find some thinspokes but I already had the ZR1 wheels, IMO opinion the thinspokes would match a little better but these will work!

Personally I would not trust my car and possibly life to the quality put into something ment to be a low speed temporary fix.

yeah. Mine looks exactly the same except for the blackouts. Even on the street that tire and wheel setup is ok. I didn't push it but going the speed limit around any bend was fine with the skinnies.

A 16x8 would not work well with an 11.5" tire. I used the 11" ZR1 because I wanted the tire completely flat on the ground there is a much larger contact patch with these wheels opposed to an 8" wheel. The set up is not a perfect set up and as stated before I would love to have some name brand bigs/littles like CCW/Bogart etc. but for my use these fit the bill perfectly!
