Default which clutch to get

I know alot of you guys mentioned I go with a Texrailia. Would a stock C6Z06 clutch hold up, maybe a cartek clutch or a centerforce??? I know cartek makes some good stuff. Can get a cartek clutch with new master and slave for about the same price for just a texrailia clutch costs. Anybody run the cartek clutch? Thanks. Just weighing in my options.

btw I have 438rwhp and 386rwtq. Will be doing heads when the exhaust and clutch is out.

An LS7 unit would hold your power but reading your sig shows that you run the car on some sticky tires and I have heard from buddies that the LS7 set up does not like to be slipped much at all. I was considering a SPEC 3+ because they are very popular with the shops in my area but decided to go with a tex oz700. I have seen numerous cars on the forums run the cartek kit as well so it is mostly going to come down to what you are willing to try!
Good luck!

def a tex 0z700 if you have the funds for it. A little cheaper route with good results is a Spec 3+, there are a few horror stories but you have those with any unit.

I know I am happy with my Ram twin Disk. There are a lot of Z06s around here that are also using ram stuff mostly the HD clutch.

I am sure the RAM clutches have worked for some but I have two local shops that specialize in LSX cars and they have more problems with RAM than any other clutch. I had a RAM powergrip HD in my car and then 600 miles of break in and on the 3rd pass at the track with it the friction disc welded itself to the flywheel! I know there are horror stories for every clutch brand out there this is just my first hand experience, good luck with your decision!

^simular story on the ram clutch. but in our case, I think it was just that the car had too much torque for the clutch. I dont know, I am a spec fan now.

looking at the Ram clutch now. I have heard good things and bad things about all the clutches. I guess cross my fingers and buy one, hopefully nothing bad happens to it and it lasts.

What ever you do, please do not listen to the ones recommending the Spec clutches. You do not have to take my word for it, just do a search in the manual section. You will find horror story after horror story. One member actually had a C5 totaled from a Spec exploding. I would tell you to go with the Tex. I have had one and had Zero problems out of it. It may cost a tad more, but the old saying "you get what you pay for" comes into play here. Do yourself a favor and go with a Tex and be done with it. Tex mores than just the 0Z 700 if you are looking for more than a single disk.

I second the opinion on not going with Spec. I and numerous friends have found out that if they do not break they wear down extremely fast.

Tex here, I can't believe the abuse it takes. I give it hell with 5K launch, no lift shift, on ET Streets and it says "is that all you got?"
