Default Lower the Vette or Not?

I cant decide if i wanna lower my vette or not, i already scrape everytime i go in and out of a driveway. How many of you Vette owners regret lowering your Vette? I know they look awesome lowered but is it worth it?

If you do lower it get the frame savers...

Mines lowered (and looks absolutely killer!) but it does scrape the bottom of the rockers every once in a while...

My Z was home for 20 mins before I crawled under it and dropped it. I already have a 4x4, and didn't need two. lol.
Yes, it's more prone to scrapes, so I put some Fatt Daddys on the front.

Drop it on the stock bolts without cutting the bushing. When I lowered mine I didn't have any scraping issues since I wasn't slammed to the ground.

Why lower your car for the street. I f you want the slammed look without destroying your car put some 19 and 20's on it and it will make you look lower without smashing off the bottom of your car.

I have 19s and I am still going to lower it this weekend... Just because the rims get bigger doesnt mean the fender gap goes away.... I have 19's all around and need about 1 inch drop all around.

Yeah, but you do gain some heiht so that you won't be dragging underneath depending on what tire you went with.

I need some height (clearance) for my body kit. It's all composite so if I hit hard it's going to break.

The only way you'll get rid of that gap by going with bigger wheels is by increasing the overall tire diameter. This will effectively give you a taller overall gear ratio (like going from 3.90's to 3.42's...not that drastic just an example). I would rather keep the same or similar overall diameter which means if you want bigger wheels then you need a lower profile tire. Enough about that...I say lower it on the stock bolts which is what I did and got it about 3/4" to 1" lower all around.

my 19's with tires are the exact same height as the stock 18's... smaller side wall

I didnt measure this but just looking at it.

Most of the way...

On the rear the nut is all the way up to the clip (didn't cut the bushing)

To get the right "rake" I ended up cutting one of the biscuits out of the front and it's cranked all the way down (tight.)

The stance looks perfect on the factory Zo6 rims (chrome dipped)

I DESTROYED my ZO6, Because it was slammed. I had a hole in the fender. I cracked the bottom of the car, there were scraps everywhere and the worst thing was; I scraped it everytime I turned the key on BUT it looked so cool, i mean like really badass.

Vettes look good lowered on stock bolts. Just make sure you take measurements to get the desired drop. My buddy lowered both his C5 and C6 on stock bolts. He also got the frame savers. Looks great lowered just a little to fill in the wheel gap.

The grass makes that look ridiculously low! I can't go that far or I'll scrape everywhere I go and not just the plastic air dam.

Where do I get these "frame savers" from? Is there any good write-up on lowering on stock bolts?

Thanks!
