Default What to do with C6?

Just wondering what to do with my car... a little background:

73,600 miles

Every so often something comes up due to age and mileage... nothing serious, just small stuff.

I'll be deploying in a month or so and the car will be parked at my parents' house for a year. When I get back, I've been thinking about doing some stuff to my car. Here's what I've been thinking:

1. Rebuild/Restore my C6 - new motor (403?), built drivetrain, suspension, restore paint and wear
2. Trade for brand new 09 C6 LS3 - minor bolt-ons but nothing drastic to kill the warranty
3. Trade for used Z06 with an extended warranty - minor bolt-ons but nothing to kill the remaining warranty or extended warranty
4. Just keep C6 as is and drive it 'til it blows!

Right now I'm leaning towards 1 or 4 simply because I'm emotionally attached to the car. It's been with me through everything. The thought of a used Z06 is pretty tempting, though. It'd be nice to have those 20 or so ponies I'm still missing with a warranty to boot. If I went the built route, the car would go to the likes of LGM, LPE, or Kartek. But then getting it serviced would be harder and costlier; also, no warranty if something goes boom.

Also, how much life do you guys think this car has?

Current Mods:
G5X3 Cam, UD Pulley, LG LT Headers w/ Cats, Corsa Sports, Halltech Intake, dba rotors, SS brake lines, bushings, hurts shifter, rebuilt tranny, lowered, 425rwhp/396 rwtq

What would you do?

If you can afford a C6 Z06 then that's definitely the way to go. It's a lot more than just 20 more HP. It's also more power under the curve and lots more torque under the curve too. Not to mention it looks better, handles better, brakes better, and it's a damn Z06!! You must drive your car a lot with that many miles but that's what cars are for. If you can't find a used Z in your price range then I would just drop a 402 in there. I can't imagine the body/paint having much (if any) issues being only 3 years old.

C6 Z06 used is the best option financially. The new c6 will get 'old' fast 09' is really the only significant thing about it. HOWEVER,......your car is Rediculous right now, KEEP IT!!!

Personally I would go with the new 09 LS3 C6. With a new minor bolt ons and a tune, it will make more power than the C6 ZO6. Plus it is a new car

I think you should keep the car, (bring it to HPE)... ha ha.... Thats why I don't buy anything brand new-- It's going to be the first year of it-- have to work out all the kinks, ridiculously high on price.... keep the c6 mod it up a little bit more, and you'll be fine

Stock genIII &VI go 300k miles plus before needing any internal rebuilds so I doubt the motr is gonna let go anytime soon....unless non-syn oil is used.

But a cam only really wakes them up. Just contact a good shop in your state & let them guide you.

I'd sell the car now, eliminate the insurance (and depreciation), and earn the 4% interest on the money. Buy a used C6 Z06 when you come back. Add a vararam and LG Pros and call it done.

If you still like your car a lot, keep it. Drive it for a while when you come back. It will probably seem fast and fun for a while. Then add a ported FAST. You'll have a fast car and get 1 - 2 years of enjoyment out of it before becoming bored with it and invest only a small amount of money.

I would not do #1 or #2.

Sell now, buy used Z06 when you return. Saves insurance, payments, etc. in the meantime.

Plus, the widebody is bad-A.
