I had a 408 stroker C5 vert and it was a freakin' blast.... I miss that car. I prefer to go topless and wish I went with the vert over the C6 coupe. Too much turbulence at highway speeds.....

You can't go wrong either way. The C5 Z has a lot more performance than the base C5's (gearing, less weight, hp, etc). It is a personal preference on what is best for you...

 

I couldn't choose between a coupe or Z at first. You can see what I chose. No regrets, plus my windows roll down.

 

I had a coupe and converted it to a FRC.

I like the lines of the FRC more than the coupe. I really never took my top off and generally always rolled my windows down.

With all of the noise, highway dirt, etc ..., it's much easier to put the windows up and down then to have to deal with the top anyway. If you're going on a trip and had a bunch of stuff you would have no where to put the top anyway.

 

Have the best of both worlds! Take a Z06 and have a targa top conversion done.

 

Even a Miata is fun going topless so the coupe just brings it all together.

 

I got a Z06 cause I wanted to be fast... and still have a warranty.
