Default Thought I would ask the Corvette Guys

Im seriously thinking about selling my Camaro only because i came across a deal that.... well a deal that i think is a good deal (maybe it isnt? you can give some insight). I only owe $7K on the camaro and i would be selling it for $13.5K so i would be up $6500. The Corvette I am looking at is a 99 FRC with only 30K miles on it, 6 speed and is stock. The guy is asking $19K for it. I could cut that down to $12,500 if i use the $6500 left over from the Camaro selling OR i could use that $6500 for mods or a combination of both. Anyhow, i would like some of your insights on what made you switch it up and get a Corvette after you had a f-body and if you regretted it. And i wanted to know if I would actually be getting a good deal on the Corvette. Any insight would be appreciated.

Heres a pic of it.

The C5 is' a better car in my opinion and yes I've had both.... Get the newest car you can buy. There are lots of things upgraded in later models if you plan on making lots of power with it.. (drivetrain stuff, better torque tube in 2K+), BS upgraded electronics.. etc.

Also, 19k seems a lil steep, but the mileage is low though.. hmm..

Looks clean man. I would sell the F-body and pick up a C5/C6 anyday. I sold my 02 SS and Im now looking for a C6.

i actually think thats an extremely low price, especially for a speedway white. thats the most desired color.
car "should" bring near 25k.

i got out of my ws6 and wouldnt go back if you paid me. night and day difference in quality and overall feel of vehicle. cant say my fbody excelled in anything compared to my frc.

I went from a 2000 WS6 to a 2002 Z06 and love it. If I had the money I would own both the WS6 and Z06. Since I had to choose one, I went with the Z06. The only thing that sucks is the ridiculous amount of money it takes to mod them compared to the F-body.

I think the price is reasonable and the frc is a good performance platform to build upon. I would do it if I were you as long as the car checks out ok.

19k is a reasonable price for 30k miles. Just remember buying parts for a vette are a little steeper than buying for an f-body. So I would use that $6500 on parts. Depending how serious you are about upgrading it. My bro has an f-body and wants to convert to a vette ever since he drove mine.

Mine has 67K and I just sold it for $18k (not because I didn't love the car, but needed two more seats), so that is a good price on that one. In regards to the switch, I went from F-body to Corvette and can tell you that I would never go back unless it was a pure race car or a classic. For a daily or weekend driver, there is just no comparision!

Go get that car!

well on average the modding isn't much more expensive. stuff like the clutch, and headers is much more but if you do any other engine mods, they basically are interchangable. That's a nice car though. I LOVE them in white so i can see them being the most desired. I made the switch and no regrets~cole~

19k seems a little high for a 99 althought it is low mileage. I just picked up an 02 Z06 with 20k miles for 26k.

I do agree for the switch though. I went from a modded 98 formula to the vette. Won't see me driving the f-body again. No regrets at all!

I have both Camaros and a Z06 now. There is a night and day diff. The Corvette is so user friendly is is ludacris! I've had my Z06 for a week now and have driven it exclusively...havent even fired the Camaros this week. Like everyone else has said there is no comparison. If you can swing the cost by all means do it, you wont regret it.

Btw, I decided to keep my Camaros around becasue I have so much of myself invested in each car. It would be VERY hard for me to part with either of them. I really love the rough edge muscle car feel of those cars!
