The ZR1 S/C will give some amazing low end TQ, but a set of headers and a good cam puts the Z06 performance up there in the 4000 - 7000 rpm band where races are won and lost. Of course, its not 50 state legal like a ZR1.
And don't forget the all important manufacturer warranty.

Well, how bout the Z51 performance option, that is good for .98 on the skid pad. You have slotted roters with it too. The ZR1 is just over kill. Your only going to see a few hunderd or maybe a thousand or two. My point of this thread is for the price of a supercharger, and maybe a few other mods you will be in ZR1 territory.

no, you wont. the brembo brakes are $16,000 alone to get the same stopping power the zr1 has, also its suggested that you forge your bottom end when going with 12lbs of boost to get the 540rwhp, plus the cost of strengthening up the trans & rear, buying a twin disc clutch, all the carbon fiber, wider rims and tires, tuning. There is no warrenty left after that as well. & after all that someone with a zr1 needs 80$ for a pulley to add more boost

Maybe in a short straight line run. But with the improved ZR1 aero you still won't touch it at hyper speeds.

I am done here.

It costs a lot to get to and supercede the zr1 level. I got the receipts to prove it...
Frankly, the zr1 is dirt cheap for the entire enchilada it provides

I have a highly modded C5 (use to be a coupe/now an FRC) with a stealth wide body kit by ACP.

I would have no problem hang'n at high speed with the ZR1.

BTW, I have all the supporting suspension and brake mods too, just need to figure out what FI route to go.

I would post up some pictures but is in paint at the moment.

Blownvette, you might want to check out some oiling systems if you haven't at least gone to a modified LS7 Drysump system with a better pan design. just 1.0g lateral will have you blow an engine in a very short amount of time if you don't pre-empt it

I don't plan to track the car so I don't think I need to go as radical as a dry sump but will probably throw in a accusump system for the just in case times.

I won't have any problems pulling 1G in a turn especially with some sticky rubber. Car has Pfadt coil over and competetion sways, VBP poly bushings, moog and spicer ball joints, VBP HD tie rod ends.

I'll be running 305/19/30's and 345/19/30's PS2's on the street. Once I get every thing sorted out I'll look into a 18" package for high performance runs.

My track will be 4" wider in front and 6" in the rear.

Thanks for the advice.

I've heard good things on the accusump as well. I didn't know your intention as that determines the severity. I look forward to the end of your body mods, especially how your fitting 345s, as I can't run a tub, I'm digging the pics.

a ZR1 is a pretty well engineered package but if you want to beat one going straight its possible to do for a lot less money

I'll have no problem getting 345's on as I have a wide body, no need to tub. Fenders are 3" wider on each side.

There are a few pictures in post #27 above. All the panels and roof are apart for painting.

It's probably going back together soon. I'll have to drop ACP an email and check on it.

I travel alot for a living and I am in Minnesota at the moment.

Thanks.
