Another thing to keep in mind with bias tires is that you want as much sidewall as possible. The sidewall absorbs some of the initial torque and stress preventing the tire from spinning right off the bat. A 26/11.5/17 ET Street does not have much sidewall and will only be slightly better than a DR. The sidewall on a DR has no flex so the initial torque either produces tire spin when the tire does not stick or it creates stress on the driveline as the driveline absorbs the torque when the tire does stick.
A 16" ET Street (bias ply) will outperform the 17" version providing the rim width is ideal. Drag radials still have their place as well of course.
