Default cheapest solution for rear drag wheels?

I wanna get a set of wheels I can run m&hs or m/t bias plys on the rear of a C5 for the track.
I know you can't fit 15s on em like most camaros/ws6s/mustangs so whats the most cost effective way to do 16s that'll still support the proper width for a slick/bias ply?

You can run a 26/10.5/16 ET Street on them just fine. Many people run 26/11.5/16s on them, but I feel that is pushing it a lot. You can also get C4 16x9.5 rims and run the 26/11.5/16 on them nicely. The good thing about the C4 rims is that they can be picked up VERY CHEAP.

There is even a 16x8 ZR1 rim that fits a C5, but those are pretty rare. The 16" C4 rims where for 84 to 88 vettes.

How about the 16x7 steel wheel from a V6 car. I had a pair given to me, but haven't needed a slick yet so I haven't tried them yet.

Understood, kinda like the idea of something wider tho.
16x9 from a C4 sounds good or the 16s from a firebird (which are how wide? 9in?)

Yep, I was gonna got to beaver springs with those guys...
You can get a cheap set of wheels from bob house of wheels, buy factory blems, you want C5 Z06 front rims. Then you can match what you have now. Also, depending on how much power you have, DR's will work just as well.

Using C5 front 17x8.5 with either the 17" ET Streets (bias plies) or 275x40x17 DRs makes for a decent budget set up as well.

They're 16x9.5 (on the rear at least, Z51 cars had the 9.5s all the way around) actually, 'none Z51' C4s had 16x8.5s on the front I think.

They're 16x8s...the 17" F-body wheels are 9" wide.

Another thing to keep in mind with bias tires is that you want as much sidewall as possible. The sidewall absorbs some of the initial torque and stress preventing the tire from spinning right off the bat. A 26/11.5/17 ET Street does not have much sidewall and will only be slightly better than a DR. The sidewall on a DR has no flex so the initial torque either produces tire spin when the tire does not stick or it creates stress on the driveline as the driveline absorbs the torque when the tire does stick.
