They're all great handling cars and yes the Mitsubishi and the Honda can be made to outhandle the C5...and of course the C5 can easily be made to once again outhandle the Mitsubishi and the Honda as well.

Ive driven all 3 and the best advice I can give you is make sure you have a beater. Having a 1K truck as a backup is a must for any car labled a toy.
If you can afford any of these cars you can afford a beater. An extra $200 a year in insurance wont kill you especially when you put the beater as your primary ride and it will save you some cash.

wow, there are some close minded people on this board that is for sure! I'll bet most of the people ******* the "rice" cars have no first hand experience with either except for maybe what they read on the internet or "heard" from another close minded individual.
Just so you know, the three cars you picked, in bone stock condition, can all be serious contenders in almost any form of motorspots if thats what you're looking to do. The only exception being that the s2000 has a disadvantage of the group out of the box when it comes specifically to drag racing (w/o some serious modifications that is), but it will MORE then make up for it on a road course or autox!
To the OP, what are you looking to do with this vehicle? will it be drag raced, road raced, autox'ed, street raced or just driven on the street?
Your answer will help us decide whats best for you.
i would also suggest posting this question on www.evolutionm.net & www.s2k.com and see the responses you get.

^^^ Um... I drove the 2nd or 3rd Evo's avaliable in Atlanta... back in '03.... and I've driven others since....
And... I bought my ex-WIFE an S2000
So I know what I'm talking about rice-boi...
My memories of the Evo was that it took forever weak to have the rpm climb even when in boost and the torque was lack-luster considering the "hype"- not to mention that f#ckin' Fast &Furious video that was on a continuous loop in the dealership (I was sales manager) and the S2000 for my friggin' ex-WIFE (a girls car at best) had zero *****.

congrats on driving an EVO 5 years ago and buying your now EX wife an S2k, I guess that makes you an expert on the subject. so tell me, what kind of racing experience do you have with either car??
your memory must be lacking if you think an EVO has a WEAK tq curve and takes forever to make boost. on a stock EVO peak TQ is around 3500RPM and holds flat for a good while. I wouldn't call that weak by any stretch of the word. Boost is also almost instantanious with the stock turbo in any gear, not sure why you felt it was slow to climb thru the RPM. If I had to guess I'd say you were either in the wrong gear, didn't put your foot to the floor or don't know how to drive a turbo car correctly. Either of the 3 would make any car seem slow.
the s2k doesn't have stump pulling TQ like a vette or even the EVO but its still a very well balanced and quick car, you just have to know how to handle them, driving 1320' feet at a time isn't what that car was designed for at all.

no contest.. the z... i would almost bet your insurance would be even if not lower than the other two cars.. reason being they think they are weekend drivers mostly.. and wont see much driving time.. s2000.. joke.. evos.. since when do they have lots of power... zo6 no question.

I would put the C5Z up against the other 2 cars in autox, road racing, drag racing, etc any day of the week too but he's talking about either a FRC or a C5Z if he can get one at a decent priced. I can't stand the looks of the EVO even though it's definitely got some ***** whereas the S2K looks okay but has no ***** and is also a 'vert (not a big fan of convertibles).

Hopefully they will start to rape the import boyzz on premiums accordingly. EVEN the (perceptually, to said insurance companies) anemic 'duhs!!
I could only hope and wish that the 'Hulkster's' son's Poopra race/crash got even MORE national publicity than it did!!
That would 'wake up' the insurers that much more to all of the import fanboyzz' exploits.

wow... ^^^ im iimpressed... 2jz.. h22.. b20... any of them.. id take a FRC over any of them anyday... reason being.. i dont give a **** how fast i can take a corner... that stupidity.. i care about straight line.. and STOCK FOR STOCK a vette will kill either... i know not off the line with the evo.. but by 100 the evo is going to start getting walked on hard.. very hard.. they are terds from rolls and about 80ish... period.. i do know my little bit.. yes you probably know more, but i know enough to make a decision for what i want without having to ask questions about the cars, so TO ME this is a hands down winner.. the vette
now my decision would be a TA for about 10 grand.. and a full exhaust with some pretty stuff here and there. that would be less than 14.. and faster than any of them.. (better looking by far too..) thats just my .02 then.

i have yet to see an evo that i am impressed with... that is near to stock that is... now i know of a few that supposedly have some HP in my area, but they never wanna come out and play.. but for stock.. they arent that impressive to me..... they put your ***** in your neck to 30... then at 80 your asking the driver why he started coasting.. so hoooray to the 4g63..
