Well in the C/D article they just put out the GT-R beat the Z06 by around .6 on the road course. Looking at the long straights at the Ring I just don't see the GT-R beating the Z06 by 23 seconds. So something is definitely up with the GT-R's Ring time in my opinion. On a side note, it's to bad GM doesn't offer the Z06 with some decent tires.

yeah, I agree. How does a 450hp car,..that weighs what..3900lbs.....keep up with a car that weighs what,..3300,..with 640hp and better aero.

Doesn't add up.

Boost controller in the GTR?...... I think so.

I want to know what the vette can do on tires with more boost and a real driver. That would be something to see!

Tires alone I think would be sick....then some longtubes and a tune.....followed by coilovers......followed by removal of the blower and onward to a turbo setup with a victor junior.

Done.

Then in the end you have a "bastard *****."

No... I like the term ZR1 instead of "bastard *****," ZR1 just has a certain ring to it...

Has noone else noticed that the lap timer started and stopped at different spots on the track? It started closer to turn 1 and finished just after the final turn. Yielding a 3 to 5 second savings on the lap. I've watched it several times just to confirm i'm not seeing things. What do you all think? Still an awesome video none the less. Clearly more left on the table.

Actually I had suggested this to numerous friends already. I choose to call it "The ZR1 GM should have made" rather than "bastard *****" but I guess to each his own.

True. They're off to a great start by offering what they are offering but,...everyone knows blowers rob power. Should have been a twin turbo setup. Ten bucks says if they continue to make performance cars, if they can continue to "raise the bar"...this setup will soon be turbocharged.

Or should be.

So the 480 HP GT-R goes 7:35 while the 690 HP GT-R goes 7:29 and the ZR1 goes 7:26. Over such a long freakin' lap how does the ZR-1 not beat the 7:35 time by a MUCH larger margin?! I say the 480 HP GT-R wasn't really at 480HP, seriously though when the same car with over 200 more HP only gains 6 sec on a HUGE lap that just shows that the 480 HP GT-R was not really 480 HP...Nissan is a bunch of lyin' bitches!
