The Ls2 equipped C6s all had 243 castings. The 08+ Ls3 equipped C6 have 317 castings I believe.

My brothers 2005 C6 has the 243 heads, just like my 2003 Z06.

Look for the crank trigger sensor on the front cover of the motor(used LS2 you speak of). If it has an electrical sensor on the front(3 or 4 pin connector) attached with one 10 mm bolt, and it's aluminum, there is a pretty good chance thats an LS2. Those all came with "LS6" 'D port cylinder heads. In other words, the exhaust ports should look like the letter "D" laying on it's side. Stock LS1 heads would be oval(ish).

All blocks come with there LITER marking on the front or back o the engine. 5.3,5.7,6.0,...etc.

If it doesn't have an intake manifold on it now, there should be NO knock sensors sitting under the manifold, or, on the top of the engine,. The LS2/L92 knock sensors would be located further down, on the sides of the block.

The C5ZO6 heads and the LS2 heads are the same head(243) except for the valves. The Z`s have lightweight valves.

The LS3`s have L92 heads and those heads will not fit with stock or Fast intakes, those L92 heads need the L76 intake. As of now there is no intake available except the L76. But Fast and Weiland will be out soon with there intakes for the L92 heads.

Hope this helps.

L92 heads also require at least a bore of 4.000", so the LS1/LS6 blocks can not use them.
