Default First ever passes in the Vette

Go easy on me, these are my first ever runs at the strip and these things are definitely tricky to launch. I was running on 26x11.5x17 ET streets with stock z06 wheels up front.

The car makes 440rwhp and 400rwtq NA stock bottom end. Full interior with a few tools and about 60lbs of after market stereo equipment.

The air was thick and muggy and I believe temps were in the 80 degree range at the time of the runs. Ran 5 times with 2 botched runs.

7.46@98.45 1.71 60'
7.50@98.32 1.79 60'
7.50@97.58 1.66 60' (this run I short shifted 2nd to 3rd around 5800 and it got really squirrely and backed off a tad but still ran it through)

Not bad for my first EVER runs and I would like to thank "Tick Performance LS1tech sponsor" for their custom master cylinder they built making shifting effortless. I was having terrible gear lockout issues which are no more. The clutch is a Tex single but it has a custom PP which is really heavy and quite a bit stiffer than the Z-grip. Also running a built 390 rear with both hardened shafts.

I never got a clean hard launch, Im still a noob so I have a lot of work to do. I think I have a shot at cracking the 7 second barrier in some cool air if I can get it to hook. I know I had a definite 7.30 run on the last one but the track went away for me after 330'. Next time out I will be running GTO spares up front and maybe a little 100 octane and try to launch harder. I think I have a shot at a high ten NA with some more seat time and some great weather which we get here from time to time.

Thanks!
Matt

Hasn't been released yet but I believe its going to run around $300. It might sound like a lot but if anyone was having the problems I was its well worth its weight in gold. I plan to go back in a week or so and try to get the launch down a bit more. I know its got a 1.5x in it and some low low 7's with a few more rpms.
FYI this thing shifts better now than my bone stock 2000 Corvette did.

BTW I actually ran Stephen in your old car on one of those runs. He was out testing the suspension last night. That thing hooks like hell now, he was hooking too good and bogging.

Video of that run or ban!

I think he ran a couple 7.60's before putting it on the trailer, he just doesn't have the gear to make a good NA pass. He put in 3.70's when he did the M9 swap because thats the gear he wants for the Turbo motor. The car looked nice as hell. Also once you get the launch down 10.50's are there, he had the car running 6.80's on the 75 shot in the 1/8th.

Forgot to update the thread but it popped out some 7.3's a couple weeks ago. Still 80 degrees and terrible humidity but it ran a 7.32@97.79 with a 1.595 60' but Im still having too much nose over on the launch after it hooks. Got to work on the launching and try a quick slip launch. Its starting to cool off here so hopefully 10's are around the corner.

That is getting down there...my 7.3 @ 96 mph = 11.3 quarter mile. Good going.

Yea its still got a bit left in it in the 330'. Should be a bit quicker with my mph's but I just have to get the launch just right. My only problems now is getting into 3rd clean, it was shifting beautiful until I raised the rev limit. Now even if I shift lower it still doesn't engage quick enough so another issue I have to work out. Got a little farther I can adjust this custom master cylinder so Im going to give that a shot and see if it helps. My remote bleeder also has a slow leak because I stripped the small valve and bled it unscrewing the fitting and screwing it back in. Probably not the smart thing but the fluid was dirty and it needed done. Still didn't help the shifting woes after it had new fluid. I think I will be trying a different clutch as this textralia has done nothing but give me fits.

I noticed this past weekend that my McLeod Master, if adjusted too high, would kill my shifting. The pedal was stiffer and the cluch would release real slow. I re-adjusted back to the middle area and it will chirp gears again. Just food for thought.
Got a new best in Bowling Green Kentucky..about 83 degrees, 60-70 humidity and a 2800DA..I hit 11.122 @ 125.49 mph. My sixty was 1.59 and 7.1 @ 97 mph in the eighth mile. Track was a little slippery, but not too bad.

If Photo Bucket sticks, just keep hitting replay till it goes. They have issues.

Well I don;t have a Mcleod but it works the same and is a larger cylinder. Not sure what happened but it used to be great and now its back to engaging real slow. Not sure if somehow it got out of adjustment or what but I hope I can get it back right. Sure sucks not being able to bang shifts.

IMO the adj. master is just a band aid for the tex.
talked to three different reputable shops, including one transmission shop that's had multiple 9-10sec cars, and they all say that tex is junk.
Matt, Nick Williams isn't even using tex anymore because he had so many problems with them. i called him about the one in my car, and he said the same thing everyone else has said "GET IT OUT"...

well I definitely won't be buying another one. While they might outlast any other clutch out there, I just dont want the headaches they cause. I will probably go with a Spec 3+ next, some love them others say they are junk and break.

Don't be its nothing special, just a really heavy PP vs the X or Z grip.
