Z06 or 911, Question from a 50 year old
I'm currently eyeing the Corvette Z06, Porsche 911, BMW Z4 M and Merc C63 AMG. The Z06 and 911 are probably the top. I love both cars for different reasons.
I am definetly not a Buick kind of guy, I would have to shoot myself brfore that ever happened.
What do you Corvette folks like best and the least about your cars? and what experience have you had with the other brands?

Have you ever driven a rear engine car like the 911? I suggest driving one (and suggest taking through some turns) before making any decision.

Then again, if four doors ain't your thing (you did mention C63), get the C6Z, put a TT kit on it, boost at 7psi, and own the road and the track

We are talking about the cheapest model benz that they threw a big motor in. I dont think you will get anything near the enjoyment out of a c63 compared to a z06. A
Also why is this your last car?
) and enjoy for a long time. I have 5 vehicles now and probably will have at least three at all times.Hard to explain, I want something special that I can be proud of, yet put a big *** grin on the face at any time.
But, and from owning a z06, your not going to find a car that performs like a z06 for the price. Even the GTR, which has a similar price bracket, doesn't compare. The c6 z06 is really that nasty.
However, I also drive mine everyday, allday. Its my DD. It's very comfortable for what it is and drives very smooth. It's fast enough in factory trim and well, even with that, I would still mod it. Simple stuff.. mats, TIRES FOR SURE!, and eh.... well, lethal Z cam/headers for sure!
I'd have gotten a 996 'Vert but, given where I live, there's no way I could justify it considering the closest dealer is in Portland (240 miles). My buddy has a TT Cayenne and every service/problem requires he trailer it there. No thanks.
The 'Vette is fast as hell and corners like nothing I've ever driven but you just can't beat German solidity. I blasted a 996 Turbo on my way home from buying the Z (lonely Eastern WA freeway) but I'd have switched him rides in a second.
Given where you live (I just moved from Mill Creek), I'd say get the Porsche. I know I would.
