GMHTP also did an article on the 04 Z06 where it went 11.4 bone stock.

I went the time in my sig with a 2.08 60' . Wish I could have gotten a 60' similar to yours to really see what she could do, but the urge to mod was too great lol

Not a track time but me and a buddy raced his stroker Trans Am witha 3600 stall that made 450 to the wheels. We raced on the street but I beat his car 3 out of 3 times and his car feels way faster just riding in it. I am sure on the track where he can stall it up he would win but not on this day! I think his car runs Low 11's at the track. Of course he would way out launch me.
Ours is a 08 A-6 with a tune and a Vararam. 395 RWHP.

Every time this topic comes up someone mentions that, then we find out that he was stock except for a Vararam and a tune, then we find out that it was actually a 12.3 or 12.2, then it's a comeback about how none of these internet records matter anyway, then it's.....

Not calling Don a liar here because he's a straight up guy, it's just that his memory when it comes to the runs made in that car a few years back is well, quite bad LOL.
Until I see video showing under the hood, the tires AND of the run along with some time slips you will NEVER convince the general LSx population that a PURELY, UNMODIFIED, BONE STOCK LS1 C5 has gone 12.4s.
The record is 12.63 and that's how it stands.

Also not true.
They did do one where they went 11.9 though (but I thought it was a 2003, not that it matters for the 2002-2004 C5 Z06s are almost identical in performance).

They did an issue with an 02, that did 11.9. The one I am talking about was a silver 04, that ran 11.4X. I have the article around here somewhere.

As for Don, I was at the track when he ran it. He may have tuned it, I'm not totally sure. Car also went low 10's once he put on the P1. Don is an awesome driver.

I would love to see that article but I don't see an '04 dropping .5 just from suspension tweaks and a carbon fiber hood. It's not like my fiberglass hood weighs 300 pounds. Fastest stock C5Z I've heard of is high 11's not mid 11's.

The silver c5 Z06 was definitely not bone stock.

I think your times and mph are about right. With a little better launch and colder weather you'll get near my stock times of 11.71 @ 119.94 mph. Good luck! Most of them were 11.8s though. And I'm pretty sure there is an 11.6 in a stock LS3. But I'm not stock anymore so I can't prove that lol

Damn..The 2008 LS3 vettes are nearly as fast as the 2003-2006 SRT10 Vipers...

12.3 at 118 isnt far off from 12.0 at 121 at all...

Those new LS3's are a hell of a lot of car for the money..

Congrats to the owners...As well I read a recent review were they compared lap times for may different cars and the 08 LS3 vette was only a few seconds behind the GTR on a 3 minute track. My hats off to chevy

Thank you. The LS3 is one hell of an engine, no doubt.

Plus the fact that guys have gone 11's with them bone stock too. They've got the edge over the C5Z's which says a lot for the stock C6 (08+).

Damn..im so caught up in getting another viper or C6Z06 for 50-60K....Hell with the discounts going on right now I could probally buy a brand new 2008 vette for 44-49K...Shitman..With 115-118 mph traps Id love to see a race of a stock 2008 m6 vette against a 1996-2002 GTS Viper...These new vettes are really starting to impress me...They are really not to far off from the C6Z06's but 25K cheaper...

My buddy took his C6Z06 to the drag strip and was running low 12's at 122 mph...Their was a guy their in a bolt on 2008 Vette automatic. He was running high 11's at 120 mph...Needless to say my z06 buddy was impressed..

I might go check them out..

I would put my 08 A-6 against a 02 to 04 ZO6 anyday. As would I match it against an older Viper. My car made 384 RWHP bone stock with hardly any miles. My friend has an 08 A-6 with headers and cats and a K&N filter and made 404 RWHP. These cars are really impresive just as daily drivers.

Althought its a Z06, its still pretty good.
