I took the vette to the track last night to get some new times since the breakend period was over (5000 miles) I was pleasantly impressed with my times. I ran mostly around the 12.5 mark but I did manage to get one good launch (1.93 60-ft) and ran a 12.3 @ 118. It seems to be all in the launch as usual but it is really tricky with the IRS and torque management. BTW this was done on a bone stock (right down to the paper air filter) M6, non-Z-51, non-dual mode exhaust, optioned vette. What times r u guys getting on your bone stock vettes?

I went a 12.21@115.45 in my bone stock trim in my LS2 C6 automatic in good air.
Other LS3s have run right in the same range as you, just last night at Atco a stock automatic LS3 went 12.1@118 as well.

My C5 Z06 bone stock with K&N filter ran 12.28 first run down the track. My buddies LS3 C6 M6 ran a 11.8 with just a vararam intake. BTW still some nice times.

There has been plenty of people running these times with stock C5 Z06's. And my pass was with Goodyear Supercars.

2001stripper, Excellent running! Our cars are really 11 seconds cars with the mph they make. Launch TM is a real hold back on getting that 60' for consistent 11 second passes.

Are there handheld tuners that can take off the torque management? There is a fine line between roasting the tires and bogging when launching these new vettes. It was so much easier launching my Z-28. Of course, the fact that it had a live axle probably helped.

With TM eliminated you would need sticky tires for a good launch. Then comes the possibility of breakage with our somewhat weak stock rears.

But to answer your question I don't know if there are handhelds that will eliminate launch TM. I think the only way is to program in more timing in the applicable cells at launch where timing is being pulled. You would most likely need one of the real programmers for that.

Yes I'd figured that, it's just that you wrote C5 and most people think C5 LS1 when they see that, not C5 LS6, makes more sense now because yes, stock/near stock C5 Z06s can easily go low 12s, the bone stock record for them is an 11.78.
My friend Sean still holds the record for quickest bone stock C5 LS1 at 12.63.

My bad for the confusion. I did not know anyone took them into the 11's stock though. Thats amazing!! Thats still pretty fast @ 12.63 on a LS1 C5.

Slowhawk went 12.4 bone stock in his 02 C5, on runflats.
