New best in the 1/8th
Well my plan was to go to Rockingham Dragway and debut the car in the 1/4 mile. I was about 40 mins into the trip and got the call that some pipes froze over night and burst. Not sure about the whole story but they closed the track. So I figured since the temps are nice I would turn around and head to Mooresville which is a local 1/8 mile track.
According to dragtimes.com the DA for Mooresville at the time of the new best was -128 ft. Sadly enough my car did not mph more or run much faster/quicker than it did when the DA was +1950. Also the DA was -1035 ft at Rockingham at the time I made my best run at Mooresville. Blah!
Well enough babbling here is how it went.
Started the day off blowing the tires off as I forgot to air down the ET streets from the drive so they were at 24psi.
1.60 60'
4.68 330' had to back off bc of extreme spinning
7.18 660'
99.28 mph
Next run ET streets still at 24psi bc Im an idiot. I launch a lot softer and it bogs bad.
1.56 60' hook and nose over
4.63 330'
7.16 660'
98.64 mph
Next run I miss 3rd AWESOME!
4th run, I got the bright idea to check the pressure of the ET streets duer! Air them down to 17psi and try again.
1.511 60' new best
4.523 330' new best
7.022 660' new best
99.38 mph
The car hooked great for that run. A couple buddies said that run was one spinning revolution from my 6 sec pass. UGH!!!!
Lets try again but this time I let the car cool for a while.
The launch was garbage even though the 60' was good. The car bogged and nosed over the worse it had all day. This was my 6 sec pass but I blew the launch.
Anyway...
1.530 60'
4.582 330'
7.080 660'
99.39 mph
After that run it was almost 4 and the track closed at 5. I wanted to let the car cool good again and give it one more try. There weren't many people at the track and they were only running the right lane all day. A bike decided to stand it up at 1:00 and come crashing down leaking crap all over the track. They close the lane and run the left lane which wasn't prepped worth a damn and colder than a witches tit. Needless to say after seeing 3 cars about put it in the wall I decided to call it a day.
Back up to the last run. I guess I need to let me car cool off good next time before trying for that 6 second pass. I really felt like the last pass was worse than the 2nd pass but the times tell a different story.
Hopefully I'll get some good air at a better track and finally hit my goals.

Thanks, it looks like I am done for the year and I can't make it back this weekend and the tracks will be closed until Feb-March after this weekend. Bummer but I plan to nail down some 10's in teh 1/4 and 6's in the 1/8th come next season.
