Getting closer to the single digits...
I drove her to work and back on Friday (about 100 miles total), so the first pass off the trailer I figured might be a tad slow. Air wasn't as good as the previous week but still not bad (-75 DA and 59 degrees to start). Footbraking it to 2000 rpm, she clicked off a 1.572 60 foot, 7.197 at 95.63 1/8 mile, 11.333 @ 117.75 mph 1/4 mile.
Okay, still fine on the motor. 71 squared jetting went into the plate (about 150-175 shot depending on the chart you look at) and I turned on the bottle heater to get her to 950. Staged up at 2 grand, and as soon as I felt the front end lift the button was smashed. The slip said:
1.440 60 foot - 6.465 @ 105.61 1/8 mile - 10.211 @ 129.95 mph 1/4 mile
For a first hit, I was happy! Engine builder told me the car looked rich from the starting line, so we backed a hair (.1 psi) of fuel pressure out of it, he jetted up to a 78 squared setting in the plate (about 175-200 shot depending on the chart you look at). Same deal, grabbed the button and the tires chattered a bit but she held on. The new stuff gave us:1.414 60 foot - 6.381 @ 106.90 1/8 mile - 10.083 @ 131.54 mph 1/4 mile
Getting closer to the magic mark! Jason still said she looked rich so we back a tenth more fuel from her, left the jets alone and tried again.I grabbed the button a bit later this one, and she was chugging before the eighth, then it all started to unravel:
1.446 60 foot - 6.405 @ 106.47 1/8 mile - 10.161 @ 128.86 mph 1/4 mile
Some of you probably know what happened (running out of juice)!
Pressure was at 950 at the start but down to 800 by mid track and 700 at the end of the run. Since yours truly left the spare bottle at home
that was the end of the nitrous testing.I made one more hit off the transbrake N/A just to see what the car would run in 580 DA:
1.543 60 foot - 7.156 @ 95.86 1/8 mile - 11.284 @ 118.32 mph 1/4 mile
All done by 2 p.m. and off to have lunch and brews!

If I can get my NHRA physical and stuff done within 2 weeks, I'll head back out for a double shot at the nines.
Since I didn't shoot any pictures this time and the track photographer was missing, I'll attach a few shots I did:
The car:

The engine:

The undercarriage:

383 Gen 1 SBC based on '79 block. Eagle competition rotating assy with flat top SRP slugs, 64/195 Canfield heads (out of the box, no port work), Crane Cams custom grind solid roller, Vic Jr. intake, Holley HP 750 carb, Edelbrock RPM plate, Hedman 1-3/4" headers into a 3" Magnaflow exhaust with tails.
Trans is a TH400 with a manual valvebody and transbrake, JW 3800 stall 10" converter.
12 bolt rear end with Strange 33 spline spool and axles, 3.73 gears.
Short of no A/C and manual steering, the car is a full weight pig. It weighted 3500 w/ me before the 5 point bar was converted to a cage, so I'm guessing 3550-3600 lbs.
