Default ET & MPH Question

Hey all,

So I just made a couple passes at Great Lakes with the M/T ET Street Radials, my previous best was 13.5 @ 103 on a 2.2 60 ft. Today my best was 13.4 @ 106 on a 2.1 60 ft. Does the mph match my et, or does this car have a lot left in it that I'm losing on the launch? The tires seemed to hook good, but the car was just not leaving hard. I foot braked it to about 2500 and stood on it. The best pass the trans slipped a bit on the 3-4 shift, so I must have lost at least a tenth. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. (btw, I think I need a stall )

It matches considering you have a stock TQ converter. Otherwise, it has enough MPH to go into the 12's w/ a proper converter and a hard launch. BTW - I always got my best ET's with a stock TQ converter by foot braking it just off idle, and flashing it on the 3rd yellow.

That's kinda what I thought, I just couldn't believe that I was spinning through 1st on my way to a 13.5 last time, and now with m/t's it only dropped my et by a tenth but i picked up 3 mph. Maybe I should just flash it off idle instead of foot braking it on a stock stall.

It's worth trying until you buy a stall converter. Mods are like a snow ball rolling down Mt. Everest.

rebuild the trans with a 3600 converter and don't look back!! mine is my daily driver and the 3600 feels great. You will gain at least .5-.7 with that converter.

thats what I was gonna say. Also you should never be shifting into 4th gear in the 1/4 with a A4. Sound like your trans or converter is toast.

I couldn't agree more unless you plan on camming it. Then I would go with a minimum of 4000. I didn't notice the drivability difference between the two. Just don't go to small because you will be kicking yourself like I did then have to spend additional money for the larger stall.
