I can tell you that with those heads, you should see more low end powa with a 4150 and a carb hat. I've tried both and found that turning air between the plenun and tb netted less hp on N/A. I grabbed 22hp and wicked throttle response with the accufab 4150 and a 1/2" plate. If I could fit more plate (add plenum) i would probably see more but then ya need to loose the stock hood and I dont really want to change the hood. Might try lowering the k member though.

6.97 @ 95.3 1.50 60'. NA 17" DRs, Stock T56.

If I could leave on motor at 4500 rpm I am sure it would run 6's easily. I try it with a t-brake but the drag radials just wont work since I drive on them. the transbrake doesnt seem to work since it shocks the tires. I just need more time to figure things out.

If I were you I'd add front drag shocks to make the 325's work. You have to keep the nose up and keep the weight on the dr's, or it will unload and wheel hop, or just spin. I'd consider the QA1 R shocks since they won't bounce when you launch and will keep the nose up.

I stated earlier about wanting to see this combo with a 4 hole TB on it.

Also on the shocks, here is my experience. When my first car first got running I had problems getting it to hook. I had wheel hop issues with the 325, BAD issues that day. I have Koni DA's on the rear and started tightening up compression on the shocks it got better and better. When I got the wheel hop gone I started tightening up the front shocks until 60ft fell off. On a good track I can run the front Hal SA's on 6(in the middle) that setup generated the 1.43 with a converter thats too small.

If you want to shoot that much spray to that weight car you NEED double adjustable rear shocks IMO. You wheel hop that bitch on a 300 shot and your fillings are gonna be loose. WHeelhop is VERY hard on drivetrain parts.

+10 on the shocks, though those who have lowing or progressive springs need to bewary of the shocks travelling out which will probably negate the shock all together. It doesnt appear that he has lowered it in the pics. Stock rear springs seem to be just right. also control arms need to be right as well. DA Afcos all around and Ive never experienced wheel hop.

Where's the Madman!

I will say the both of you are making me feel real good about the way my car is performing being only a 346 CI engine and on 26 inch tires to boot! My car is always at the 100 MPH mark in the 1/8 NA.

Anyway I hope you get it figured out WizeAss! Sometimes it just takes time. For what it is worth I would have put the front shocks on first before I ever even changed out the back shocks. I have been many 1.4 sixty foot times with the stock shocks on the back.

Good Luck!

You are probably correct with the weight issue, and like the OP said, he was in some higher temps than we usually have here in WI.
N2, just curious what your car weighs? Either way you have that thing running really good for a 346. My engine/ gear/ converter is setup for N20, so its NA times aren't very impressive. I plan on putting my car on a diet over the winter, and hopefully it will be close to 3100lbs. when I take it out of storage. Anyways, Wizeass, keep me updated on how your car runs on the N20. I have yet to spray my car but if my car responds to the bottle like yours does, I will be very happy.

N2 could 3100-3250 would be my guess. My old 2000 Z/28 is now 3250 raceweignt and going 10.7's on softer 60.

I wish I could get my car down that low. It is setting at 3,350+ with me in it.

Thanks it does pretty good! I have my car setup for N20 but have only tried a 75 shot so I guess I would say I have really worked on the setup of the car for all around best performance.

Those are the shocks I am using! I am sure WiseAss will get things worked out! I would say the NOS progressive controller would help a lot on his launch.

John, I tried to send you a PM. I was trying not to hi-jack the thread but you do not receive them. So here are your answers.

Comp Cam special grind less than 610 lift and has less than 230 duration. The engine is real street friendly and has about 8K miles on it and just a little over 200 passes down the dragstrip.

I shift at 6,400 1-2 and 6,800 2-3.

As stated before I feel good about how the car is doing, it has been a lot of hard work.
