Default Not So Happy With My Times, What Do You Think?

A little help please.

I got a new car a few weeks ago and decided to take it to the track last night to see what it would do,

Here are the specs:

2000 SS W/30,000 (A4)

Lingenfelter Short Block (standard bore, forged pistons at stock CR)
LS6 Intake and Ported TB
Stock Injectors
Racetronix Fuel Pump
Crane Cam 228/228 576/563 on a 114
Stage 2.5 heads from Texas Speed
Stock 10 bolt with 3:73 Motive Gears
Upgraded Trans.
3400 Stall
BMR Suspension
Weld In Sub Frame Connectors

So, I go to the track and ended up running a best of 12.55 @ 110mph:

60ft = 1.8
330 = 5.24
1/8 et = 8.06
1/8 mph =86.56
1000 et =10.52
1000 mph = 99.72
1/4 et = 12.57
1/4 mph= 110.22

A couple things that I know need to be done. The gears and ported throttle body were done after the original tune. So, the tune was done for 3:23 gears not 3:73, not sure that will make that much of a difference?

Also, the trans lags the 2-3 shift. 1-2 hits hard but 2-3 seems to take a bit and is drawn out. Can this be in the tune?

How can I tell if the car is needing bigger injectors or more air?

Thanks for any input.

Bill

I'd say just fixing the shift points alone will make a world of difference. Your 60' time seems a little soft too. What was the DA that day when you raced the car?

Do you have longtubes? What brand converter do you have? Who tuned the car? What track did you run at?

It's definitely slacking off up top. Is MI a high elevation state though?

Yes, it has long tubes, off road Y pipe and Borla cat back.

The car ran 13.1 with just the full exhaust.

Stall is a Vig. 3400

I bought the car as is so I don't have the name of the guy who tuned it. It is a sponsor on this board.

Milan.

I am going to buy HP Tuners I think and then pay someone to tune it.

Thanks,

Keep an eye out up at milan. I talked to 3 people who had either efi live or Hp tuners. I already had my truck tuned but I know you shouldn't have a problem finding someone to tune your car at milan. Just ask around. Good luck with bettering those times!

P.S. What days did you go to milan I might have video. I don't know the two dates I went this year right now but I have a green beat up GMC 2500 that was running low 14s. Let me know the dates you were there and I will look for your car on my videos.

I was going to say th esame thing. Your car should be in the 1.5 - 1.6 60' range. You need some good rubber to hook.

What RPM is your trans shifting at??
Get your shift points adjusted. Your missing alot of top end which is why your mph is so low.
