Default Drag experts analyze my G-Tech results please!

I plan to take the vette to the track soon, but messed around with a G-Tech on my buddies private road (which is kinda short). Based on this data, what do you think I'd get in the 1/4. 11's ???

0-10 - .38

0-20 - .98

0-30 - 1.55

0-40 - 2.15

0-50 - 2.85

0-60 - 3.73

0-70 – 4.70

0-80 – 5.73 (probably a couple ticks high since i was starting to run outta room and had to get off the gas around this speed)

1/8 mile was 8.02 @ 77 (was clearly off the gas and on the brakes but the unit kept recording)

thanks!

need info on your car and mods to really tell, the g-tech is usually off but from my runs i figured you will need an 1/8 mile time of about 7.9 to get an 11.99.

good luck

since you have heads and cam your car probably pulls harder than mine on the back half so it the g-tech is right then you should be good on the 11 sec pass. reason i say that is because i dont have heads or cam and i always pull 4.05ish seconds from the 1/8 to the 1/4 in ok weather. really im thinking your g-tech time is bs because i think with heads, cam, stall and if you can hook it up should be mid 11s atleast.

good luck on your pass, keep us posted

You Gtech isn't telling the whole story, when going down the strip you 60ft time is the biggest factor IMO. There is just no way to replicate that on the street. Let's face it compared to me you're running better heads, a slightly bigger cam, and I have a 3600 stall to your 3000. With **** poor tuning a 28in tire and bad track prep I ran 11.85 before getting the tune dialed in, and changing to a 26in tire on lighter wheels then I ran the numbers in my sig. I would think that you'd have no problem if you have a good tire.

G-techs are usually pretty close. People will tell you they aren't but I ran my probe years ago with one and my truck a year or so ago and both times it was quite close. That being said neither vehicles were pulling killer times so traction wasn't much of an issue.

With a car like yours you have lots of traction to make in order to get good times. Therefore on the street you aren't going to get nearly the times you should at a track. So if you take what you were able to muster on the street take .3 or better off your 1/8 and you are right were people said you should be in the 1/8.

One of theses times to the track I want to take the g-tech and compare track time side by side.

Thanks guys...my 1/8 mile on the gtech is skewed because i was on the brakes...8.02 at 77 doesn't jive otherwise. It' like when you see a dragster run a 10 sec pass at 80mph b/c the driver had to shut down!

I found a car and driver article on the C6Z and the values I registered on the gtech are very close to what the Z did up to 80mph. It ran an 11.7 at 125...that car is just nasty!

Hey Eddie, how much do you think you gain with a street vs drag tire? I've never been to the track and was hoping for a high 11 sec pass on my street tires.

About the G-tech I ran one at the track a couple of times and it was within 0.15 of a sec, most was within 0.10 but one was slightly more off. The G-tech was telling me slower time BTW, I am by no means saying it will always do this, that it is always that close but out of the 3 or 4 times I did it they were pretty close.
