Believe this guy, I have been the victim of a mid 12 sec car (4v na Cobra) bust me up on the street (11.7 ls1) due to traction. I had some junk yard 275/40 street tires on and he had some 275 MT Et Drags. I would get him from a roll but from a dig it was spin city for me. That's why I now roll on MT ET Streets or Drags at all times![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)

SOTP the lt1 feels like it has more than TQ than the ls1 but it is just because it makes it so much lower in the powerband.
An lt1 will usually be right with/beat an ls1 to about 50mph or so. Has nothing to do with anything but traction issues on the ls1s part.
They definitely lack top end, most platforms do.

it's really fun actually. especially on the highway when passing someone (auto/3.23 gears, turns 2300rpm at 75mph). just roll on the gas and it won't even have to downshift, it'll just come into it's peak torque and take off.
i will say this, the LT1 has to hook first. most LT1's came with 245 series tires stock, and getting them to hook is an absolute bitch.
and yes, i do realize this is an old thread.

Yup. My old 94' Auto LT1 ran consistent 13.3s @ 103/104 with long-tubes, worn out drag radials and a pcm4less tune...car still had 2:73 gears in it too...

I have a full bolt on LT1 car and my buddy has a LS1....when he was stock he couldnt catch me. Now he is pretty much same mods as me and he'll pull me in every gear. I think it also helps on the "Driver Mod". I still jump him out of the hole but once he grips he walks
