Default New Personal-Worst Reaction Time

I had staged for my fourth run of the day when I suddenly doubted my transmission was solidly in first gear. I reflexively shifted to second and slammed it back into first. By the time I redirected my focus to the tree I was staring at a green light. My next thought was “What the hell is that? Result: New PW reaction-time: 3.46 seconds.

Everyone has an "off" pass for some reason. Just laugh it off and it'll make any .1-.2 reaction time easier to deal with!

It was funny. Rereading my post I see I didn’t fully explain my discombobulation. My class uses a sportsman tree and of course I leave on the last orange. I hadn’t consciously seen a green light since I started drag racing five years ago. I’m a six-speed guy with no two-step so when I’m staged I need to carefully listen to my engine while I watch the tree. When I doubted I was solidly in first gear, I shifted into second and back to first with my engine above 6k without moving my left foot, not something I normally do. I don’t have a line-lock so I wondered: Did the car move?, Am I still staged?. By then I was lost in space. I stared at the green for what must have been two seconds before I realized it meant “go”

Yes, I love Infineon Wednesdays, especially the early heads up racing. I rarely survive more than two rounds during eliminations.
