H/C on street tires
Ok my first time to the track with the Trans Am since my heads and cam were installed. Mods are in sig. I went 12.6 at 118. I practically spint to the 1/8. I'm running 315/35 sumitomo street tires. I would have gotten some stickier tires but I'm two hours away from the track and I was afraid my 10 bolt would explode. What do you guys think I could put down with traction?

If i wasn't spinning so hard i'd probably pick up a few mph wouldn't I? I spin all the way through 1st, 2nd and in 3rd it kicks just a little and takes off. My 60ft time was a 2.3.

Wow. Were you drag racing on a sheet of ice or do you have the worst tires ever? I can see spinning 1st and maybe a 15 ft peel into 2nd, but all the way through 2nd and into 3rd. Worst track ever?
But to answer your question, with a good 60', I would say low to mid 11s are definitely possible. As for even picking up a few MPH, you'll prolly be in the same ballpark. I can't explain why M6s trap what the do. Powerband? Gear ratio? My time was nearly 1/2 second better than yours, but only 1 MPH faster. But I'm willing to say getting your 60' down will result in a lower ET but same trap speed.
Plus, I'm with you babying the 10 bolt. I had some ET Street Radials on mine, and didn't want to break at the track. Cut a 1.98 60' slipping the clutch ~ 4500 RPMs. I did it that high once and didn't push my luck. 11s were close, but not worth a flatbed ride home with a busted 10 bolt.
