Default Trying to get 7.0s (1/8)

My car is running 7.3 at 93mph with a 1.59 60ft in 1/8mile. Im looking to get to 7.0. Currently I have LQ4, LPP headers, 3in Y Pipe, cutout, LS6 intake, ported TB, ported 243 heads, 219/230 cam, yank 4000, built 4l60e, ram air kit, slp lid, tunnel mount torque arm and LCAs. Im wondering if a fast 90 or fast 102 may knock off a few tenths. Any ideas would help.

Put some bigs and littles on it. Should give ya a tenth over the stock wheels you have now.

Your ET is very good for that MPH, so it looks like more power and/or less weight is needed. Who ported the heads? Are they milled?

^ This. That cam is geared more towards a stock manifold/sleeper setup aside from the chop at idle. Any weight pulled out of the car?

Didnt really want to go for that look.

I've never had anything like this car before and I didn't know what to expect out of this build. I dont have that much in this car but I wanted to get out as cheap as possible. Which made me decide to run the stock LS3 springs that came with these heads and I got this cam cheap too. I was told I could run low 7s with this setup but I didn't realize that once I got here I would want more right now.

FAST and cam are definitely on the radar. I'm going to borrow a FAST 90 and try to run it on Saturday. Heads were ported by zzracer and I was told they were surfaced when I bought them, so I'm assuming thats all and .040" cometics.

The guy helping me with the build was looking for a CheaTR cam. This cam is only a .522" lift. Didn't want to make the wife and kids upset with a big cam.

No real weight reduction other than sway bar. With the extra weight of the iron block I'm definitely more than stock. Runs were on half tank of gas.

Try the fast intake and maybe get a little weight out of the car and I think you will be real close to a 7.0

Other than LCAs...the suspension is stock? Id try to get that 60ft down. Based on the video, the car appears to hook. Maybe some LCA relocation brackets and 50/50 rear drag shocks will help move you out a little quicker. A .10th at the 60ft is good for .20ths on the big end.

It might come close to that in the 1/4 for a 11 sec or slower car, but I def don't notice that kind of difference in the 1/8th.

Car seems to be running well though.

Ive seen it come real close with my car, its not exact but helps give folks an idea of the pickup with a better 60ft. Im talking mid-low 6sec 1/8th mi car. Faster you go, the less of a diff it will make to the overall ET.

If he can get that 60ft to mid-low 1.40s...that should get him where he wants to be.

Intake would help for sure. Ever consider a nitrous kit?

You never mentioned anything about weight. I would put the car on a diet. Toss the back seats. Replace the the front bumper support with the one from mwc. I'm assuming you on a budget....

FAST 90/90 helped a little. Went almost a tenth and a mph faster on a much warmer day.

What RPM are you shifting at? Also, I assume re-tuned after installing the intake?

Not wanting to run nitrous on a 7.3sec car. Its a daily driver and the tracks we run at make you install a roll cage if you hit 6.9. I know nitrous would get me down into the 6's but just not interested.

Shifts are at 6500. When we get the break in oil out of it I may try it a little higher.

Fueling really didnt change much with the intake. It did help with MAP pressure, it's up 4 KPAs with the FAST.
