So i finally took my stock lq9 1998 camaro z28 a4, to the track, the car is stock beside free mods, manual cut-out and drag radials, with 2.73 gears, i didn't really see any times for a stock lq9 in a fbody, so i decided to post.

thanks man, and yep i have a 3.42 read end for a ss m6, along with full exhaust, 3400 stall and a dyno tune. I should be in the 12s easy with that, and my shift point from 3-4 is off, it takes too long to shift out, with i believe is what keep my traps down. But how is your build going?

My build is coming along great. My final cam specs are 229/244 on a 113+3. I have all my components now accept for a underdrive pulley, ignition wires, and a mass airflow sensor. You ever plan on doing a head upgrade on your engine ?

yeah, i make a mistake i meant 2 to 3rd, but it struggles to shift into 3rd, it seems like it wants to shift around 85mph but it doesn't until in the mid 90s and i lose acceleration, any ideals what case this?

Good deal! I never planed on going with a LQ9 myself, but when I blew my LS1 it was my cheapest bang for the buck option. I already had a nice HCI combo, so I just transfered it over, and was surprised at how much better it ran with the 6.0. Any ideas on the top end you'll be going with?

Sucks doesn't it lol? The LS3 top end would be a great choice, but i'd go with a healthier cam. I'm running a fairly big cam (similar to a MS3 cam) along with PRC 5.3 heads, and a LS6 intake. I've got all the bolt ons you can do along with a ported/ polished TB and a SSRA. With the 5.3 heads im running 11.5:1 compression and that's with a standard GM gasket. This combo runs strong for what it is (along with 4.10 gears) but if you can afford the LS3 route it's no doubt a better option

^Ditto to this, LS3 would be much better but gonna cost ya more than just heads, you'll also need LS3 intake manifold with cable throttle bracket and MAP sensor relocator, 90mm 4 bolt throttle body, LS3 fuel rails, and LS3/L92 rockers. If you do the 5.3 head route make sure you do a reputable porter like Advanced Inductions or TSP also will now port customer supplied 5.3 cores. Both put out damn good numbers from budget head! Good luck!

Not a bad idea, cam and headers alone will make it feel like a rocket compared to what you have now, a lot of good deals on heads and intakes go through the for sale section on here for 1/2-3/4 of new price if you watch for awhile
