Default Lid and Cutout Ls1 M6-13.0

First post on here.. not new to the scene but I always use tech for info. Last trip to the track last week pulled a 13.09 @ 107.4 on a 2.025 60'. 1/8th mile was 8.50 @ 84.6. My car is a 1998 Z28 M6 with Lid, Cutout with stock muffler), and MT ET street radials.
Oh and factory clutch still from 1998. Hopefully if the weather will stay nice and cool around here Ill be able to net a high 12. I have pics of timeslip dont know how to upload..

Thanks guys. Also I race at Sacramento Raceway I believe 70ft or so above sea level and the DA was probably around 1000 that night in low 70 degree weather. Ive also learned shift points are very important to trap speed, essentially to be staying in the powerband. My stock ls1 seems to like 55-5700. Any higher I feel like im losing "momentum". Up next are longtube headers, gears, and a little spray.

Good run. Work on that 60ft. So you tried shifting higher? I'd think you could shift at 6300 so you'll fall back into your power band on each shift.

I usually log all runs, and Ive noticed with my car, a relatively stock ls1 If I wind her up to 6-6200 my trap speeds seem to come down a little. So I try to stay shifting near 5700 where its really happy. I believe once I get headers gears and tune in the near future I will be able to shift a little higher and take more advantage of the usable power.

Good run. I wish I was at Sacramento Raceway. That track is barely above sea level. I've read that Samoa is the only other great track in California. I would've like to have 2 mph added to my time slip

Are you running on the stock 10 bolt? Also what did you launch at and did you slip the clutch or drop it?

^Yes, stock 10 bolt, stock 3.42 gears, stock clutch, stock shifter etc. I try to launch right around 4k plus or minus some depending on the night. Ive tried all the techniques and slipping seems to get the better 60s and get it out of the hole with the stock setup. Get off the clutch soon and WOT

A gear would drop you abunch, I went to the track one time before I pulled the stock ls1 out, it had a lid, 4.30 gear, suspension and a slipping clutch lol. Ran quite a few 8.0x's with a 60ft. to run a high 7.9x 1/8th mile of course. Car had original plugs and wire from what I can tell and factory manifolds, I wish I would've messed with it some more before I put the ls7 in it, an ole ls1 will run with the best of them.

Mine would do high 1.6x's - 1.7x 60's with the mt pro radial but a 26 would've done better on mine bc what I had were 28's so it would bog the motor down and the clutch would slip on the big end. You'll have solid times if you get into the 1.5 60ft range.

Yeah thanks all. WVhugger got me convinced on the gears. I think 4.10s with a 26" tire are going to be a good choice

Yeah the 4.10 26" would be a good choice. My buddies bolt on tune m6 fbody ran high 7s with a 4.10 and a 26x11.5x16 also. Keep us updated on how its doing.
