I totally understand a bigger stall would help but drivability is the number one factor here. 4k stall is totally out of the question. I drive to the track and drive home. Also, the car was cutting better 60's with the smaller stall.

[QUOTE=6SSPEED;18955414]The stall was a 2500 before I loosened it up to a 3000. Now, before we go throwing stones at the converter let me say this. The car would cut consistent 1.46-1.47's when it was a 2500. But that was also with a 230/236 cam. Now that the cam is much larger I loosened up the stall to compensate for that.

What was it running before? Those are some really good 60ft's before you restalled.

It was running 7.1's at 94 before the restall. That's what is so puzzling is that after adding a bigger cam and looser converter the car gains nothing/slows down.

What is the intake centerline on that cam? How much compression in this engine?

Yes. It made 403hp on the old setup. New setup makes 419

That cam in a 383 would be okay with a 4000 or larger stall and a 4.11 or better gear. But, your tight stall and modest gear are not a great match. 11:1 is good street compression, but if you are altitude in Tennessee, your effective compression will be less.

This post also caught my eye. I have never in my life seen a #3600 naturally aspirated car with a 2500 stall manage mid 1.4 60' times. Not even big block cars.

I have timeslips/pics/videos to prove everything. The car is a sleeper on the 16 inch snowflakes. Said pic.......

That smaller cam and stall worked real well together. You might want to just give a bigger stall a try. I can drive my 4000 yank around on the street without issues. Not my daily driver tho. If you don't like it someone will scoop it up quick.

Did you ever data log the old converter to verify what it would flash to on the launch?

Never got a chance to but I could only get the car to footbrake 2000 rpms before it would push through the front brakes.

The car cut 1.52's with 3.42 gears in the ten bolt, then swapped to the s60 w/ 373's and then 1.4s were the normal with the 2500.
