Just do it all already. Chuck more parts at it. Quit playing around and get it DONE!

Why? Just do it all. Unless this incremental bullshit is actually making you go to the track, cause this is the most I've seen you there in nearly 15 years!!

I am curious about your trap speed, seems a little high for the ET. Locking the converter? Or does the cam have a good top end charge?

On a pass I made with my auto car a few years ago, I ran 10.74@125.7 with only a 1.60 60'. On that run, if I had your 1.47, it could have been in the high 10.50's.

Tom, yeah i do like racing this car a lot, no trailer and what not. Though the next project will likely get trailered when it gets serious (haven't bought the roller yet but looking hard).

Al, thanks for the interest. Car was 3800-3850 raceweight with a 3800 converter, so that might account for the lazy ET? Did do 99mph in the 1/8th. I figure we loosen converter to 4200 and start trying hard for a 1.40 60. We lock the converter in middle of third gear otherwise it buzzes thru the traps 300+ higher.

I have been roller shopping as well. What do you have in mind? Txt me if you'd rather not put it in the open yet. I put SillySyclone in charge of finding me a tube car....

John, what is the shift extension from 1-2, and 2-3. Have you been logging any of your runs.

A buddy just went 10.66@127, so I'm thinking I'll have to definitely lighten the car and make more power to run 127. He went 101 in the 1/8th and I've been just a bit shy of 100 MPH.

So 10.65@127 is my goal.

Bump...

So 10.90@125.5 1.47

and let's say I:
~remove 90 lbs
~loosen up 3800 to 4200
~tune for e85 (15rwhp?)

10.65@127?

Go higher on the converter John. Mine is a 4800 and has been 1.299 at 3050lbs. That's where most of the et is going to come from, 60ft.

John you know that you can only get so much from a car. Then it takes a lot to get so little results. Keep playing with it, but I think it's going to take more than 90 lb weight reduction, 400 looser stall and E85. That may put you at 10.75. Got to get that 60' down. JMHO.

Yeah I could live with a 10.7... maybe.

Not much left I can do to this daily driver, time to build a strip (some street) car.

I'd be very happy with a 10 second dd. When my car was a dd it ran 11.60's and was a handful on the streets! It (MTI 382) had more torque than hp. From red light to red light it was a beast.
Sometimes I wish I had just left it alone.

Yeah that's true, good for me to keep that in perspective. Right now the car on the MH DRs is at least 11.0's as it sits.

Might be time to buy another car. 2 years ago when gas was 3.69 a gallon I got fed up with it and bought a 2014 Cruze-DIESEL, yep 46 miles to a gallon hwy. Took it to Indy last year and got 52 mpg doing 36mph.I use an average of 5-6 gallons a week,10-12 bucks.
