Default Street legal racing at HRP

Did a 2nd gear burnout and with a 4,000 RPM launch the tires spun too much on the hit. MSD 2 step ordered and hoping to get back out there this Friday if weather permits.

Thanks man! Yes it's a 28" tire and I've been having problems getting the power to the pavement. Just watched your "Last run of 2020" and see that your launching at 5,000. Are you running the 2 Step?

Working from home has it's pro's and con's and right now I'm working on the pro's which is why I'm reaching out to some of the LS1tech's for answers.

The car has an S60 with 4.10's and full BMR suspension. It has a long torque arm, non-adjustable lca's and I can't recall what the pinion is set at but want to say its -2°. Shocks are Viking DA's with C&R set at 8 on the rears, C12 & 5R fronts when drag racing. I certainly have room for improvement and I know there's adjustments that can be made to help this car on the launch. On the hit the right rear is squatting causing the fender to cut into the sidewall and when the tire stretches vertically it starts to eat into the valance for the CME. I'm thinking smaller tire but not sure what my RPM's are crossing the finish line.

S60 with 4.10s here, was bouncing off the limiter set at 7k before getting to the trap on a 26”. 4th gear. I have my rear control arms in the lowest mount on the axle. My pinion angle is set to 3 degrees difference.

Thanks for the info!

Gonna try that and see what it does, I'm buying a fender roller today and I'm pretty sure the valance has the clearance by now..lol

No doubt! Are you running bias ply or radial 15s?

Bias ply and staying with the 28x10.5 slick but perhaps a 26x10 would be the ticket.

Stock suspension, NA and 4.10 gears would all lead me to believe a 26" tall is going to be more efficient than a 28"

I run a 28" with 4.56s, probably less lower than you but also less weight than you.

10 psi! Are you running tubes in those bad boys? How much psi were in the slicks during the runs?

Definitely go out again and report back to us!

How's it going Coach! I ran into you one night after a 10 sec pass you made in a 4th Gen. Patrick was the one who tuned the car and I told him you said hello. I'll be out for the NHRA Final Elimination's this Sunday and hoping the weather clears up but it would be an honor to hang out with The Coach and makes some passes down the track.

There was close to 20psi in the slicks on that hit..LOL...but your absolutely correct on 28" tall and no plans to go smaller. I just wish I had someone around who knew what they were doing to watch this thing on the launch cause I'm sure things can be done with the suspension to help it hook better.

Gonna try to make it to one of those in August but I'll send you a PM if its a for sure. I'm still recovering from an Achilles tear on the left ankle that happened back in March. Love your signature BTW!
